How many of you own more than one Spyder and if so why? Is there a significant enough difference the ride between the various models?

Currently own two . One for myself and one for Linda. One is a three cylinder and one a two cylinder. There is a difference in the performance, but not in the ride on my RT's.

See signature below. Have owned five, but no more than two at a time.

Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.

    Previously : 2008 GS-SM5 (silver), 2009 RS-SE5 (red), 2010 RT-S Premier Editon #474 (black) 2011 RT A&C SE5 (magnesium) 2014 RTS-SE6 (yellow)

MY FINAL TALLY: 7 Spyders, 15 years, 205,500 miles

IT HAS BEEN A LONG, WONDERFUL, AND FUN RIDE.

I started out with an RS and very shortly after I bought an RT. The ride is a lot different between the two, the RS was fun to zip around town on but the RT is definitely better for me on long trips. There is a huge difference between the 998 and the 1330 motors too. If you can't afford two then you need to determine what matters most to you like riding position, storage, etc.

    I have owned two RTs: a 2010, and a 2014.
They're about as different as night and day. In every functional way: the 2014 is superior to the 2010.
It's faster, quicker, smoother, gets better gas mileage, runs cooler, the SE-6 transmission does a much better job of downshifting on it's own, the hydraulic clutch engagement system protects the clutches from toasting themselves, it runs cooler, the gas gauge is WAAAYY more accurate...
The only things lacking: a Frunk release button, and some decent FM reception!

But the 2010 "lit the fire", and I loved that bike!

    I have owned 2 spyders.

My first was a 2012 RTS-SE5 with the 998 engine, I had to stop often to fill-up. I did not get the D.E.S.S error on my first spyder.

Then I upgraded to my current spyder ( 2014RTS-SE6 Cognac) it has the 1330 triple engine, more power, quiter engine, more comfortable, better gas mileage, low maintance, bigger gas tank, 1200 watt alternator, I liked the color. I can zip around town at a lower rpm, in a higher gear. I have plenty of power to pass other vehicles on the road, I have done more farkling on this , then I did on my first spyder. ( I made it my own).

I have two Spyders right now. A '09 GS and a '15 F3S. With my car and the Spyders, the garage is officially full.

The GS is pure fun to ride and it's set up for drag racing.

The F3S has cruise control and a more comfy ride for long distances.

Yup, have the best of both worlds...

I have a 2013 RS that I have sort of changed into a RT. Wife has a 2014 RT Limited. They each have their pluses and minuses. I like my RS for drive-ability and peppiness plus I can actually carry more stuff in my RS than she can in her RTL.

Bought the '08 GS in 2010. Bought the '11 RT-s last spring. Recently sold the '08 as I only rode it twice in almost a year of having them side by side and ready to go in the garage. And both times were not by choice!

I have a 13 STL and my husband, a 12 RTS. Yes, I feel they ride very different. I love the feel of my STL. I love the ride. I feel like I have more shifting ability with my ST and a sportier ride (like it is geared different or has a different feel). My husband likes the comfort of the RTS.

I have a 2015 rt ltd. Have owned e erything in the past from bmw to gold wing and usually kept a big bike and a small bike but I must admit the spyder meets all my needs and for the first time in a while I just have one bike. Never thought I'd go away from a wing but very happy I did

I have a 2012 RS-S, and my wife has a 2014 ST-S. The RS is quicker, and fun to play on. While it is less of a touring machine it does excite me more. The ST is a great daily driver as the heated grips, more relaxed ride position, and a larger windshield make it a more "all-purpose" machine. It is great for extending the riding season at both ends (spring and fall) but I do not feel that it is as much fun to flog as my RS-S. Each one is designed for a purpose, I figure if I get several of each I will be all set.

    Just sayin'...........
Three in the garage, and I think I can fit at least one more in.....and then we will have to build another garage.
The roads in NY are so bad that I am glad we bought a Ryker Rally

    Just sayin'............

SWBMO felt that she was not safe on two wheels and purchased a spyder in 2014 just before her hip replacement surgery. We ride 2 up for the first few months until she was off the drugs and had completed PT. Once she took command of the RT, she started pushing me to get one as I was having problems with my hip. Picked up an old stock 2014 in Feb. 2015. Sold the two wheeler in July.

My wife has a 2014 RTS and I have a 2016 F3-T. Both are great bikes, the seating
position on the F3-T is more like a cruiser and the RTS is great for two up and touring.
I am going to take the F3-T with us on vacation to see how it does on a 1700 mile trip.

Very inspiring to see the number of multiple Spyder owners out there... First it speaks to the quality of the machine and second it is my future plan as well as the wife, who is going for her license this summer wants an RT to ride along side my F3S.

I have 2013 STL and my husband has 2013 RTL They are definitely different. You sit differently. I sit forward and he sits back. The ride is a lot different. His is heavier as well.

    Default Own 2, my 3rd and 4th

    First I had a 2009 RS SE6
    Then a 2011 RT-S
Now a 2014 RT-L for me and my darling
Now a 2015 F3-S for local fun by myself.

I find many clear distinctions between the RT and F3 and they make a great pair without much overlap in what they do best. I have a small bunch of friends I ride with at times- RT, Multistrada, Harley, Victory, Honda and me. For a day trip of back road running I take the F3. For our 3 day jaunts through the mountains I take the RT. I got a few years left of this kind of fun and I am having it to the max!

    I currently have 2-
2012 RT with BajaRon Sway Bar that Hits 60 MPH in 2nd gear and burns around the back roads -Even in Winter temperatures!!!

2015 F3 which is what my 2009 GS should have been? Comfortable, Fast, Great Gas Mileage, AND- very Easy To Maintain!!!!

Both are a different ride which is WHY I keep both!
