Default Trying out my new bike camera

Been working on mounting a camera to my F3. I will also have a helmet mount. In this location I can charge it while recording. I am mainly doing it for insurance purposes. Changed YouTube link to Can Am Leaving Black Hawk/Central City Colorado. Old mining town turned into a gambling town. Coming down the canyon.

I went the cheap route. I picked this camera. It was only 35.00 bucks. Got great reviews. Has all sorts of mounts available. Looked good. It is outdated, Ion how has 3 newer versions but I wanted something cheap but would still do the job.

    Default Nice...!!

Assume it is currently mounted on the handlebars...there is some distorsion on turns when filming through the windshield. Now just for the record (insurance) it is fine butif you want to have great trip memories a mount outside the windshield and steady mount is best and the helmet also works if you don't move your head too much... you really can't do that and keep your eyes on the road....thanks to the around town trip... camera works well....

Yes there are plenty of cameras out there. I just wanted something cheap. I have the helmet mount on order, so we will see how that works out. On the handlebars I can charge while recording. I will probably keep it on the helmet most of the time and then move it to the handlebars to charge. It has 2.5 hour battery life.

Thanks, pretty good pic for that price. I just want something basic without spending a lot of cash, and it looks like this will fit the bill nicely!

    Thanks!!

    Just ordered one.

Helmet cams are great if you want to record something that your bike is not facing. Or if someone is being nasty to you in a car next to you or behind you. However the bike mount is on a ball joint so you can quickly point it to where you want it. I don't know. I have never had one of these. So I am in the test phase. May never need it, but you never know.

Here is the camera on the F3. It looks bigger then it is so I also have a shot with the camera charging in my office with a dollar bill.

    Default Pro's and Con's

While I understand there are pros and cons to both mounting methods, I find it hard to watch a helmet mounted video. There is just too much moving around. It makes me sea sick trying to enjoy the video. I much rather prefer a solid mount.

    Default Thats a good video

That's a good video. The field of view is wide enough that you feel as if you're in the drivers seat but it's nice a steady enough that you're not getting seasick.
