TALK ABOUT BIG BROTHER WATCHING.... RESMED CPAP machine.

i started a new tread so people using the resmed cpap machine can know what is going on. i just called the supplier of my machine to find out if there was a program i can download so i can read the SD card in the machine to print out a report for when i go to the doctor in a week. they told me they will send the report once a month to the doctor as per medicare rules. i asked how are they going to do this if i have the SD card. she told me the machine is being read by 7 cell towers and the report is sent right to them. she also looked at my machine, and told me all the settings, what my humidity was set at, and that i have used it for 3 nights and how many times it kicked in to help me. so i asked if i walk around naked, can you also see me, she took that very serious and gave me a big NO answer and once again told me it is only data that they see.
personally i don't like the idea about not being able to bring the report with me, but i guess it is just another way to bill medicare for a useless service that can be done by the user of the machine. did anyone else know this

I have same CPAP machine you have. I can log onto my suppliers website and get a daily report on how I am doing absolutely love this feature. It shows hours of use, mask seal, events per hour, and how many times I take the mask off during the night. It also show the history of the last 14 days so I can see how I am improving. You might want you contact your supplier and see if they can provide you with the same type of information. My supplier is Lincare which is a national company. Actually yours does have an sd card slot that you can take in to be read,if you put a card in it. I have one in mine and I take it in every time I go get new supplies.

I have to bring mine in so they can download the contents. The only reason is to make sure I am using it. If not they will take it away from me as a punishment. They're watching out for our tax dollars. Spend five save one.

I have same CPAP machine you have. I can log onto my suppliers website and get a daily report on how I am doing absolutely love this feature. It shows hours of use, mask seal, events per hour, and how many times I take the mask off during the night. It also show the history of the last 14 days so I can see how I am improving. You might want you contact your supplier and see if they can provide you with the same type of information. My supplier is Lincare which is a national company. I never heard of my Machine sending out data. I dont use res med, mine is a Philips Bipap pro biflex I used to have resmed but needed a Higher pressure. With a bipap, I get 19 inhale and 14 exhale. If big brother were listening in all he would get is mask farts.

But seriously, there are very strict rules and regs about medical information confidentiality; so it they ever screw that up, you can own them.

If you want a Lot more info there is a PC/MAC app called SleepyHead. You take the SD card out of your CPAP and upload the info into your computer. Note that you have to write protect the SD card before putting into a Mac.

You will see page after page of info

i am exhausted today, i have had a couple of bad nights sleeping with the stupid machine on. both nights i took it off around 2 am and have had a hard time going back to sleep. i saw the weight loss doctor today, and he wants me to lose some weight b4 the surgery, and i have to bring the cpap machine with me so i can use it after the surgery in the hospital. i have to look for a liquid diet to start and i have more tests to go through b4 the surgery. this is becoming a real pain in the arse
