new spyder rider,
ok, got the 2012 RT-S Thursday evening. rode home after dark. it was interesting having never ridden one before. took off on it yesterday for some puttin around. I know it is just my imagination, but in the turns it feels like the bike articulates. i'am 6'3" 235'ish, shocks set at max, rear airbag set to 4/5. rides pretty good considering our roads are junk. I know I caught myself trying to lean the bike a couple times. also noticed its easier to take the turns if my knees are tucked in. got to get used to the centrifugal force! like the spyder, doubt I will ever ride 2 wheels again.

Welcome!
Do yourself a big big favor and read the Do's and Do Not's sticky thread at the top of the forum. Tons of good information and wisdom.

Do you have any experience on ATVs? The Spyders feel most similar to them.
Tucking your knees in against the tank helps to stabilize you, and that'll make things feel better.

Knees tucked and lean your upper body into the turn. You'll get the hang of it. Welcome!

ran about 80 miles or so today putting around the area. it's feeling better. got into some pretty good twistys. was at the HD dealer today for an event and just happened to run into the lady who traded it in. she told me she had the sway bar upgraded, didn't say what brand or anything. had a lot of wind today with some serious crosswinds going on but it was a good day. asked the wife if I scared her in any of the turns and she said no so I guess we're okay! got right on 30 mpg on a fill up today and that was with some in town stop and go yesterday. we are hooked, I can tell ya'll that for sure.

Bought my spyder at our local HD dealership this year also. The wife and I really like it. We decided to leave the two world behind!!! Now got to sell the Road King Classic.

I bought my ST Limited in 2013, then sold my ElectraGlide. My husband bought his 2012 RTS right after I bought my ST, then sold his Road King Classic. Welcome!
