    Default Learned something new

I have a new 2015 RT-S SE6. My previous RT 2010 had the electronic switch to operate the frunk. The 2015 does not. As usual I'll startup the Spyder and let it idol for a minute or two. Then I realize that I need to put something into the frunk which means I've got to turn off the engine to operate the frunk lid manually. A couple of days ago, by accident, the same situation presented itself. Without thinking, engine running, without turning the key to turn off the engine, I pushed the key straight in and then turned it to the left. The lid popped open and the engine never stopped. I let go of the key and it returned to the operating position. I've tried this several times and it works everytime.

You can teach an old dog new tricks. The seat will also open with the key on, in case you hadn't figured that out.

Thought this was standard on 2013 & after. Ive been ignorant to it all & have been blissfully enjoying few tricks.

I was strapped, on my Goldwing when I needed the key to get in the fuel door, and my battery had failed, so
didn't want to re-jump it. I like getting to the gas cap with motor running. Just in case.

I also wanted the electronic frunk switch. I ordered it and it was basically plug and play. Works great on my 14 RT-S. Only problem is this switch is blue and rest of them are orange!

I am so glad I got mine from I Motorsports. My salesman showed me all of those features and ways to do things when I picked it up.

Any other questions I have had that I forgot after he showed me, (I just wanted to ride so my mind wasn't entirely focused) one phone call and he answers them.

Then if he can't answer them I go to all of the people on this board, and I have always gotten an opinion ans most of the time an answer there.

When I purchased my 2014 RT, I had my dealer install the switch kit. He on his own initiative found that the matching switch was available and included it at no charge to me. The part number he listed for the switch on my receipt is 710002353. It's available for $59.99. I wouldn't pay that just to have a matching switch, but free is good.

The dealer should have explained that 'new' feature. When I asked why, it was a very simple answer, too many headaches for BRP and 60.00 for new switch.
