Default Br windshield or route 129???

I rode to my local dealership today hoping they have the windshields in stock to kind of compare the two and decide finally which way to go...
I am 5'11" 32" inseam and don't mind wind in my face. I have the aggressive handlebars installed and When I had my sts I used to ride with the windshield at its lowest setting and I loved it. It was rare when I set it at its highest setting but at times it served its purpose. Now I am uncertain which way to go.
I definitely don't like the look of the big aftermarket windshields out there. Br windshield and route 129 both are appealing to me. My question is which one should be the closest to the setting I used to have in my Sts as far as height and looks are concerned??? Anybody out there that used to own an Sts and has either one of the shields in question please advise... Thanks

I am also 5'-11" with a 32 inch inseam and the BR "focused" all the wind into my face. Also a lot of wind buffeting noise in the ears. I would recommend you try to test drive one and see what you think. Could be an expensive mistake. I have replaced my BR with one from Bikescreens.com which uses the BR mounting brackets.

Your URL should actually be bikescreen.com

BTW, to the OP; if you don't mind a little wind in your face and some "buffeting" at highway speeds - the BR ws will probably be most like what you are used to with the adjustable screen in the lowest position.

    Cool

Well I've had both screens and if like me you accept some wind as a part of motorcycling
then you'll probably be comfortable with either.

Here's a pic of mine with the 129 plus an X-Creen Sport

Here's the BR once again with the X-Creen

    Hope this helps...

Thanks !!! The issue i am coming accross is both dealerships i have been to don't have f3 s with windshields to test ride. And that is why i didn't pull the trigger yet because it is definitely not a cheap upgrade .

thanks for the pics. That makes it a lot easier to see them side to side. Looks like it will be the br windshield. How much is the x-creen?

I believe I paid around $137 for the larger Xcreen Tour model at Revzilla.
Let me clarify my earlier post. The force of the wind in your face is amplified with the BR installed. With no windshield at all the wind is more "spread out". With the BR the wind is directed/focused straight in your face! If you wear a full face helmet probably no big deal. No helmet law here in SC so...

So did I on my 2015 F3. I'm 6'1" and the 20" Bikescreen was my choice. There's night-and-day difference in the wind and noise between the BRP Blue Ridge and the Bikescreen.

I'm about the same size as you and I love my 129. My wife has the BR and I don't like the taller shield near as much.

I got one of these for my Wing, it's called a "Laminar Lip" it is held in place with industrial Velcro discs. It can be placed in different places to get the sweet spot. In my experience it moves the air up and above the passenger and really makes a difference at speed

The resultant value of "any" windshield is highly "subjective" and is directly related to individual expectations of what a particular WS should provide. Hence, a small WS designed to compliment a "sporty" bike will never provide a large envelope of dead air around a driver and passenger. Again, expectations need to generally be in alignment with what a particular WS was designed to provide.

I did get the br windshield today and installed it. The install was pretty straight forward and easy. I didn't get a chance to test ride it on the highway yet but I did take it around the neighborhood and I love it. It does redirect some of the air away from the chest area and that was my main concern. I do not mind air on my face so I am a happy camper. No regrets whatsoever !!! Thanks again for all ur inputs and help. Greatly appreciated!!! Now on to the next mod. Still waiting on the phone call to pick up my rims from the powder coating shop. Now looking into a cat bypass.... Anybody knows if the warranty would be voided with the install?

Finally got to take the Spyder for a long ride to test the newly installed br windshield and I can tell that finally after owning the bike for a little over three weeks now, today was the first day I fully enjoyed the ride. I was able to take it yo 100mph and didn't have to struggle to keep myself on the bike. Before the install the ride was rough due to the brutal wind hitting me in the belly/chest area and face. Now with the windshield the stomach/ chest area is protected and I am still getting wind in my face( which I don't mind at all).
The majority of the reviews I read about the blue ridge windshield don't do it any justice. I always loved the look of it and now I love what it does and how it changed the dynamics of the ride. I am glad I read most of the reviews about it on this site and I am also grateful u guys assisted with ur inputs. I am a happy camper with the purchase and know I will enjoy the ride a lot more now. Thanks again for all ur inputs and the br windshield for me gets .

I have both and prefer the Route 129. That said I can make you a great deal on a Blue Ridge that is missing two pieces of hardware if you are interested.

Talk to F4 CUSTOM WINDSHIELDS. Love mine, have the 28", you would need the 32", great windshield, I got the first production run, drove to Don's house to have it installed. It loves Route 129.

I'd have to agree. I just got my 32" F4 and am extremely happy with the result.

    Default 129 Windscreen

    Hey, Lamont -

In the pic, it looks like your 129 is smoke tint. Looks cool. BRP doesn't offer smoke. If it is tinted, what's the best way do it?

    Cool

Don't want to tread on Lamont's toes here but he has posted elsewhere that his "tint" is a
professionally applied perforated wrap that was done by a company local to him.
