I went on the F4 page to buy a windshield for my F3 and was shocked when I saw the price.. 550.00, really?
looks like I will have to look elsewhere

That doesn't really sound unreasonable to me. Have you checked out California Scientific or MadStad? I have no idea what their prices are or if they have anything for the F3 but it is worth a look.

F4 Shield
Just thought I would list some of the features of the F4 and maybe it would explain the cost of this F3 shield:
Highly Scratch Resistant even with steel wool. Cleans with paper towels and any glass cleaner
High Optics. Made with the highest Optical Polycarbonate with the hard coated baked in after the shield is made
Rain Shedding: Sheds rain like Rain X on steroids
4 year warranty against any cracking, crazing, or delamination
Great wind protection for your legs and hands also for that cold weather riding.
Black Powder Coated Hardware
Thanks for reading

For the quality, price is reasonable. Not a cheap hobby but a great hobby.

Quality is like buying oats, if you want clean fresh oats you are going to pay at little more than those that have already been run through the horse.

When I got my F3 I also purchased a Blue Ridge windshield, I was never happy with the Blue Ridge windshield, too much helmet buffeting, I put on the Calsci windshield and now it is a joy to ride, no more head movement and good protection in the rain.

Yeah, I do notice that that F3 windshields are very pricey compared to the RT windshields at F4 Customs. I don't know why that is. Possibly because of the extra hardware needed?

Hey, I was just making a guess, OK!!!
There must be a reason why the F4 windshield for the F3 is $150 more than the comparable one for the RT. They make a great, high quality shield, but for some reason it's more expensive for the F3. If you really want to know the reason, why don't you ask Don at F4 Customs?

I would suspect that the hardware kit has a lot to do with the cost, which is not required on any of the other F4 windshields.I find it interesting that most of us want made in the USA but then question the cost and look elsewhere for a cheaper price. It costs more to manufacture in the USA and depending on the part of the country that the part is manufactured will effect cost. I live in Tennessee where labor and manufacturing costs are low compared to other parts of the country like, California, Maine, Ohio, Illinois and Indiana. I mention these states for the fact I have gotten quotes and all have come back at a minimum of 60% higher. It is tuff being a manufacturing and distriburator of your own product(s) when dealers who want to sell your product want 30 - 40%. For the most part the small businessman makes very little after expense and dealer discounts.

Your right Pam and fencepost the F3 requires mounting hardware and the RT does not require this.
