OK DUDES n DUDETTES......
while @ my dealers, wait'n for my oil change, the manager told me that there is a KIT out there that will convert my/our very able 1330 ACE engine up to 1800cc's without the need for doing anything to the bottom end... has anyone out there heard of this KIT...?
i asked, and he said all that he knew was the KIT was out there....

but you may have to widen your search. Like Aprilla has the rotax 998 cc twin in a 149hp model they may have some triples beefed up as well. Search the rotax engines..they have some interesting ones we never hear of...

There's only so much material in the cylinders to allow an overbore so it would have to be a (big) stroker kit. You'd need at least an inch longer crank or shorter piston. Good luck with that!

And you have to figure out the tuning. Not something BRP is really into. They do a great stock machine but haven't really offered much in the add on performance area. Except for one time in the past with the RXX.
They leave the real performance arena to the aftermarket, and the aftermarket has no idea what a 1330 motor is.

If it's a kit, it probably includes bore liners, pistons, rods, and a stroker crank. Again, cubic money. Reminds me of when I was building engines, first question would be, how fast do you want to go, second would be, how much money do you have?

He must have read about the GW conversion and got confused. I would be shocked to know there is a bolt on kit to raise the 1330 to 1800cc's - which no bottom end change.

Not that I know my AFAHITG, I think a 1800cc motor would not be doable with the OEM engine components. Would it even fit in the space allotted???? Potential heat issues???? 1500 ccs, maybe

Big bore kits
156cc more per cylinder is not that much. The tuning piece is trickier. A 998 kit is available; one was offered for sale already installed by a SL here. 140 hp. Might be fun!

For the F3, maybe this is a factory big bore kit with all the oem tuning items like a new computer, new exhaust, and engine parts.
Similar to how the Toyota sells supercharges for the trucks via the TRD options stuff.
Found this on the internet to validate the possibility.

I don't think it would be possible to increase it to 1800cc without getting a stroker crank or something. In fact, I do not know of any internal combustion engine that can increase it's size by over 30% with just a big bore kit. If there was such an increase, then bye bye transmission.

Probably from his ex-neighbor's Brother-in-law's eldest Son's ex-wife's Divorce attorney's maid's sister...
Going from a 1330, to even a "nominal" 1800cc displacement would require that a whole lot more than just bigger pistons be stuffed into the engine...
In order to reach that displacement just with pistons; you'd need to be up in the 97mm size.
(Stock is 84mmm...)
There's just not enough room in the cylinder walls for that much slug!
Now; you either change the crankshaft, or at least change the mounting point of the connecting rods...
This is getting to be a mighty large project!

In my humble opinion if the engine is big enough to scare the heck out of me then I'm a happy camper. My 998 cc does just fine......

Bob, here's an easier one; .7854 X bore squared X stroke X number of cylinders. This was published in Hot Rod in the late '50s, works.

I was never much of a Math Whiz, and I'm certainly NO mechanic; but I DO enjoy practical applications for playing with numbers.
My most recent exercise involved building a 686cc engine, and putting it into my 660 Grizzly. (Yamaha came out with their own 686 with fuel injection, but it only had a 4-valve head...)
The 660s had the magical 5-valve on top of it, so after looking at all of the oversized parts that I could get; I went with a +2mm JB piston with a 10:1 squeeze, and a Raptor Bumpstick... (Cam)
This combination ran on 87 octane without a hint of pre-ignition, and it pulled like a freight train...
An earlier game involved turning a 439cc two-stroke snowmobile engine, into a 513cc monster.
That one required that the mounts for the connecting rods be moved out 1.5mm (for a 3mm stroke increase), and I had to overbore from 67.75mm, to 72mm. I knew that the cylinders had enough meat for this project, because they used it as the basis for other 72mm-pistoned machines.
We added over 40 horsepower to THAT one!
And it still runs today!

the KIT would come with larger jugs.... no boring out of existing jugs....
let's get back to the original question; HAS ANYONE HEARD ABOUT THIS KIT...?

I have not heard about it. Did some searching in the Sea Doo world and did not see it either.
