Better than the kids(under 12) that come up to me saying "DO A WHEELIE OR BURN OUT!!!" "GIVE ME A RIDE!" (Stranger danger has no meaning it seems :|)

THEY CAN HATE IT IF THEY WANT...
THEY CAN DENY IT'S A MOTORCYCLE IF THEY WANT....
THEY CAN SAY IT'S NOT A HARLEY (OR HONDA, YAMAHA, etc etc etc)...
BUT WHAT THEY CAN'T DO IS CONVINCE ME THAT I DON'T LOVE MY SPYD3R, OR CONVINCE ME THAT I'M NOT HAVING THE TIME OF MY LIFE ON IT....
WHEN ONE OF THESE JOKERS OFFERS TO 'BUY' ME WHAT HE/SHE LIKES, THEN MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, I'LL RIDE THAT...
UNTIL THEN, I'LL RIDE LIKE THE WIND....

Do you know why they hate Spyders? When there parked and I show up the people come over to check out my Spyder, they are just jealous!
No one gets to this point in their life hating people, places or things without having support from other haters. Can Am produces other products that are desired by the worlds population. I've seen it as I have a Harley and two Can Am's, and while setting at Deals Gap on the F3 I was surround by other make drivers asking questions, at time like the first time I stopped on the RTS at a gas station outside Nashville. It took thirty minute to put fuel in the scooter because of others with questions. Haters are a part of everyday life, my suggestion is not to engage them unless you are prepared to defend not only your sanity but your personality. Don't let them sap your energy and your decisions. Ignore the ID10TS, ride on.
Well, maybe not hater, but definitely a "I don't trust that fandangle gizmo thingy" attitude.
So far, I get people who either admire it or are curious. But last night, this guy pulled up behind me (rather abruptly) in a parking lot. He looked like the Angry Orchard guy. The first thing he said was, "That thing looks awkward". I just replied, "Its a lot of fun". He then said, "I've been riding bikes for forty years, and that thing looks awkward". I then said, "I rode a sport bike for six years, it took about two weeks to get used to it". He still had the angry orchard guy look on his face. But somehow I did peak his interest. His face relaxed some and he said, "How fast it is?". I said, "Zero to sixty in five seconds". He then gave me a reluctant look of approval and just drove off. I know if he rode one, he would like it. And he knows it to. But he doesn't want to like it.
Anyone else notice middle aged white folks rarely if ever approach you about your Spyder..Usually its that Angry Orchard look.. Majority of lookers and people that approach me are minorities and old folks.. Just an observation ive made here in Texas

With all the times I've been approached, I've never given it a thought about who is or isn't a minority, or how old they are. I guess I just don't care enough.
I take that back. Just recently a young girl (she told me she was 11) with her younger brother in tow said to me that that was a can am spyder with a 990 rotax engine; I thought that was neat because I removed all emblems from my spyder years ago. That young girl was white, as was her pretty 20 year old sister. So, I guess I sometimes do notice people, and how pretty they are, if female.
I've avoided this thread for a few days because I've seen so many spyder hater threads. Today I scanned thru it, and your video/post caught my eye. It is hilarious, and made my day. Thanks
I find 99.9% of HD, bike riders like my SpYdeR certainly once in awhile negative comments show up. Still wanna use the one I read In a snowmobile mag years ago referring to Ski-doo/Polaris. "Would you fly in a Plane made by HARLEY?" Quite sure will never need but would be funny...I think D
This is interesting; I was in the same parking lot yesterday, and at the same time I was removing my gear another man pulled up behind me the same way and said, "That is so cool. I never thought about buying a motorcycle, but I would buy that".
There doesn't seem to be any universal opinions about anything. People are so varied.
Yeah, I'm not a Harley hater, but that is funny. I've shared it with my Harley riding friends, and they all get a kick out of it too. It's only fair since they pass around their own jokes about Non-Harley riders.
We actually had some hate stuff going back and forth between and other brands in the earlier years. Many took offense that was being dissed by those who did not have a clue. We now seem to have got past that. We take things in stride and move on.

My response to "How fast does it go?" is: "I don't know - it has five gears, and I run the risk of lugging the engine if I hit fifth lower than 65. I haven't tried going much over 100, but there was till plenty of throttle and I was nowhere near redline . . . "
