Thinking about switching from harley Ultra Classic to RTS. I can still handle the harley. After riding for the last 40 years I was thinking about something different, and easier when riding 2 up. Is the fun factor still the same as 2 wheels? I'm looking to rent one for a weekend Demo rides don't really help.

In 2011 I was riding a road king and loving it although my wife bitched about the heat. We looked at a RTS and traded the next day. As summer residents of the North Carolina mountains we rode all that summer and returned to Florida in the fall. My Harley buddy's kicked my butt all winter long until they shamed me, at a weak moment, back on a custom fat boy. Having two new knees and a greater respect for the can am I parked the HD in the back of the shop and that where it is today. Bought another can am F3S and the wife drives the RTs. Happiness provails. Your new experiences will be the same as you acclimate to the differences going to three wheels. Once confidant you wonder why you didn't do it earlier.
Just about anyone who can ride a 2 Wheeler can hustle it along & have fun; but while they're always fun to ride, it takes a discerning rider to get the best out a 3 Wheeler like the Spyder, and when you do it's an absolute Blast!! Still, if you just want to poke along & enjoy the scenery, they can be really good for that too!
My 1/2 mile of "good gravel" switched me off my GL. I still get Motorcycle style acceleration and the wind in my face.
I really do love my RT-S. I also have lots of respect for the 998 v twin, but glad I held out for the triple.

The fun is the same, and in many ways better. The only thing I miss about two wheels is carving the twisties and leaning back and forth. Other than that, it's an absolute blast, and much easier on my body.
but a totally new fun factor...nothing like the two wheel fun factor, this one comes with a rock star additive and miles of smiles. That rental will show you what its all about...

I switched from a 2010 Goldwing to a 2014 RT Ltd. 2 up riding is much more comfortable for both of us and can enjoy the scenery much more as the driver.
I (we) feel a lot safer and are both having more fun on the Can-Am then the Goldwing. I set the ride to soft when riding 2 up and switch it to hard when I'm riding 1 up
and want to be more aggressive.
Love it..love it..love it.
Put over 12K miles on it since I bought it a year ago.
No regrets!

I put on over 180,000 miles on my last two Harley's in 10 years, and in 2014 sold my Ulta and purchased the RT. Put 16,000 miles on it that year (currently just over 30,000).
This spring I did some work on my brothers Road King so I put on over 200 miles on it since he lives 100 miles from me and I picked it up and delivered it to him.
Now 155,00 of those miles were on my 2003 Road King and I have to say that I was very happy to get back on the Spyder after riding his.
As so many have stated it is different, but once you get the hang of riding it a blast to ride!
Now remember to post a picture of the one you do purchase

Isn't it weird that in AMERICA our flag and our culture offend so many people...... but our benefits don't?
Over 45 assorted two wheelers from 80cc to 2000cc and everything in the middle. Had to go to three wheels because the hip would no longer allow me to support the 900# machines that I had come to love.
I am still happy riding--even though it is on three wheels.
Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.
20 years of 2 wheels, but totally my Kawasaki Voyager caused my wife to put her foot down on 2 wheels.
For 300 miles I hated my Spyder RT, from that point forward I wouldn't go back. Still on a saddle and in the open air. It's like a 2-wheeler on straightaways, like a Lamborghini around the twisties.

Head over to the Motorcycle Mall in Bellvelle NJ not far from you and rent for the day. Not cheap but I did it a few times. Riding with my best friend and wife two up has never been better. Oh yea now we own a 2014 RTL and will never look back. Come on over and join the spyder family.
