Did you disconnect the negative and reconnect to reset the computers and it worked then it stopped again..?? Best take it to the dealer and have them fix it. Many have gotten it started but eventually it will not at all... get the new parts...

Trust... it will be back!
Your not the first to do this as a temporary fix...
It's only a temporary fix as there is a problem with some 2014/2015 Spyders with this issue!
It will be back and I am sorry to tell you this fact.

Yes, I also got this idea from my service tech

Turning the key off and on 3 times quickly is in fact a real procedure for clearing "active faults".
So this works not just for the DESS fault but most other faults and codes as well.
Much faster than doing the mythical "key walk".
However, it doesn't mean the problem is fixed and the faults "could" come back right away.

Well that's a new one. Sounds like a possible myth in the making to me. Do you have a source for this procedure. Turning off the key for 30 seconds is in the service manual, but turning the key off 3 times quik I have not seen before.
Yes Bob I think your audio settings will get blown out.

Thanks, Billy! If I had to use it; at least I'll know why the music sounds so bad...

I first heard about this a while back from Ann Meyer. I then asked a Tech and he said it is a valid procedure. Heck Ann said she has done this while actually moving down the road!
I know it's not in the service manual but it does work. I tired it myself to see and it cleared all faults I created on my own when I ran the rear tire while on the jack.

I called my dealer in Chandler AZ. service writer has never heard of anyone having this problem.
Called Midwest Performance &Power. lawny was very sympathetic. He checked parts no new ones in stock. Said he would get one as soon as posible, over night shipment. Call when he got it.
Before that I emailed the Steve that someone mentioned on this forum. He emailed back and forth . He opened up a case number with Midwest Performace.
They both know my wife and I are 64 and over 1,500 miles away from home. Both stated going to do their best to get me fixed as quick as possible.
I can not ask for more. I will let you know with follow up post how it all goes down.
Also had great service on the road from the dealer North Power in Menominee . . So there are very nice people working to make our spyders the one to owen.

Yes, The D.E.S.S code will be back, take it to your dealer and get it fixed.
I have a 2014RTS-SE6, and I had the D.E.S.S. module replaced and the keys reprogramed last month. I had 6,994 miles, when I first got the D.E.S.S key code.
This month I had the D.E.S.S. key code show up again. ( I stated a thread about this issue" D.E.S.S. Key code AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! ) Look at the above thread that I started about this issue, BRP needs to get fix this issue real soon.
Have you been reading/and following the thread that I started?
