Default Positive update on dealers in Phoenix are

I had posted over the past several days about the problem on my RT where my glove compartment lid has stopped latching. I skinned the Spyder and removed the glove box in the hope of stumbling upon the problem and fixing it. No luck, so I decided to take it to Ride Now in Chandler, which is 40 miles from home. In light of recent comments, I was filled with trepidation.

I was pleasantly surprised. The service advisor was very pleasant and knowledgeable and immediately diagnosed the problem. He ordered the latch and will call me when it comes in. He says it will take about two hours to fix. No problem that I didn't buy my Spyder from them.

I then brought up my nightmarish experience with the sales department. He laughed and told me he has heard this many times from many customers. He went on to explain that the service department tries to distance itself from the sales department.

How many certified techs do you have? I asked. The answer..... they have three (3) Master Techs.

So far I'm pleased. I'll follow up after the work is done.

As a side note, he told me that BRP has busted Apache Motorsports for not having the required certified tech on staff. They may lose their license. I'll keep an ear on that development.

Glad to see that you are having a positive experience. RideNow did not sour their reputation in the Valley with one negative experience and will not turn it around with one positive experience. Time will tell.

You are absolutely correct. I got the feeling today that this service advisor really wants to improve their image. Like you said, only time will tell.

Interesting, curious to hear if anything happens to Apache. They are the ones I usually deal with.

Do you go to the one in Mesa? That's where I had my comical experience with the service department.

Yeah, when I have gone there I usually have to tell them where to look. The last time I was there was for a "check engine" light. They updated the software and cleared the code and it hasn't been an issue since.

The service advisor I used to deal with has retired and the new service manager used to be an advisor. Dark hair glasses, if you here him talk he is really full of himself. I started going there when I bought my M109 and had caught him in more flat out lies than I can count. He reminds me of a used car salesman. And everything I disagreed with and showed him where he was wrong by examples and picks on the 9 forum he would just back peddle and say "we haven't seen that before". Haven't been back since and now do all the work and mods myself. Will only go to a dealer if its at a last resort anymore.

Pam, just wanted to point out that you can be a master tech but without a PHD factory certificate they may know nothing about the Spyder. Master techs are not trained on the Spyder. Only the certified (certificate) factory trained techs are certified to work on the Spyder. Ask to see his Spyder certificate from BRP. Master tech is a IMT higher motorcycle maintenence certificate.

IMT does not train anyone on the Spyder. Just so you know.

Glad you had a good experiance though.

Wish you luck Pam. I'm hoping the same change is afoot at Surprise. The service rep was well aware of the reputation when I asked him about it. Bad thing to have reviews like they have.....wish I would have read them before buying my F3.

Wondering where you get the extra ammo for that missile system you have. LOL
