I'm placing an order for the Mini Trailer Biker Wagon Cargo trailer to be able to carry my dog with me. He is a 70 Lb. German Short Hair Pointer. I'm planning on securing his carrier to the base of the trailer and strapping the carrier to the side rails. Any comments or suggestion would be welcome.
Thanks Allen
no advise on how to trailer your short hair...but i just wanted to chime in to say I love short hairs.. I currently have a 12yo female , Gypsy .. I have had 5 other short hairs in my lifetime... love the breed.. tons of energy and very affectionate.. great companions..
I would spend the money and get one like easysuper's !
I have been a professional dog trainer for 30 years including Police K'9's.
If this is like a flat trailer/type and you plan to secure like a plastic dog crate to it...I would: Bolt the crate through the crate floor to the trailer...use large flat fender washers on the bolt. Then I would also secure ratchet strap it too. Lastly....I would secure the door with bolt snaps or a padalock so the dog cant force the door open or so it wont pop open if you hit a good bump. You can secure the door by drilling through the plastic just behind the door line at the top and the bottom. You then use a bolt snap or lock....run it through the hole and through the gate....it will stop the door from opening.
The one easysuper has is widely used in Europe (they make much larger versions, 4 dog versions, and so on also) and has been used for a good 40 years over there. They are very nice !
Please think about it this way...
Would you ride blindfolded, in the rig that you're going to put your pet in?
They have to trust you completely with this very important decision...

...so please make the right one; for their sake!
And that is exactly why we spent what we did on the best trailer we could find. When my wife was pulling it back from Michigan where we bought it , at the rest stops people would ask her what she had in it , her answer was "My husband" she got so great laughs and some strange looks.
