Phobias
I know there is a name for all phobias, but some, well most, I didn't even know existed.
Here is one I did not know about, Hoplophobia. Do you know what it is?

Yep. Hoplophobia (sp?) is quite common among certain demographics and at times can be contaigious. I can gladly say that I do not nor ever will suffer from it, especially as evidenced by my collection...

Hi Bob,
Re: That is NOT a time for fear...
Have you ever stared down the barrel of a handgun held by someone who would have no compuction about using it?

i once had a drunk off duty cop put 15 of us up against a fence with his off duty gun. we were teens and hanging out on a corner, we were laughing at the same time a woman came out of a liqueur store and she was so drunk she dropped the bottle. she started yelling at us thinking we were laughing at her, and got in her car and left. about 10 minutes later we see a big fat guy in shorts and tee shirt running down the block and he tackles our crowd. so we fought back and he pulled a gun and put us all up against a fence. at that point we tried to calm him down and my friend louie bent down to pick up his watch from the floor and the guy fired. at this time we didn't know he was a cop. when the shot went off everyone started yelling at him and i walked away and went across the street to the pizza store to call the cops. when the cops started showing up this guy takes out a badge and held it backwards over his head so the other cops knew he was a cop. turns out he worked in the 109 pct and so did he, they took the gun away from him and put him in the car. they tried to calm us down and than they left with the guy. we all got into cars and went to the station. they had him upstairs for what seemed forever and coffee was coming in from the diner by the gallon. well after a hour the detectives came down with the guy ( artie if i remember right ) and he pointed out a few guys and they were arrested for assault. by this time the news was called and news me started showing up.
to make this really long story short, all charges were dropped and he was put on foot patrol till one night he was drunk again and was fighting with his wife, and a neighbor of theirs called the cops. a LT showed up at his house and tried to talk to him till the guy pulled the gun on the lt. he was forced off the force and retired. wow i haven't thought of that story in years

Hi Bob,
Re: There's no Second Place, in a gunfight...
Well, there is a 2nd place, but only once.
As for the situation I was in, I did not have a gun; only he did, I was 19 a the time.
