We will leave from Florence, where we live on the morning of the 17th. Spending the evening of the 17th at HUMBUG Mt. State park and after a rousing early start we will check-in at BLUE LAKE Casino afternoon of the 18th. State Parks, and Motels are pretty well booked solid so have a reservation before you go, Northward or to the South. Hope to meet lot's of SPYDER riders and enjoy some group rides. Have a LASER Alignment scheduled, I see that BRP has some Technical Sessions scheduled also. Kudos to the organizers of this event!

    Default I was wondering when....

I was wondering when folks would start the SITR chatter. I, for one, am STOKED and am ready to get my knees in the breeze in them trees!
We went for the first time last year and had an incredible time. Looking forward to the sun this time, due to the event being held a bit more inland that last year. Northern California has a lot to offer ryders. Mountains, Coastline, Big Trees and Sweeet roads.

    Hope to see you there!

    Hi cabodan,

Re: Any body know anything about Hwy 199 from Grants Pass,Oregon to Crescent City,California.

I've done it many times, but always in a car. It is a twisty one. Quite often you will be slowed down by slow drivers with nowhere to pass. On a nice day, it is a great road to travel.

    Jerry Baumchen

PS) I was thinking about going this route but it would mean a bunch of time on I-5. I'm going down US Hwy 101 on the coast.

    Hi folks,

The other evening I was talking with an old friend who lives in Ferndale, CA; which is just southwest of Eureka, CA.

He said that they have not seen the sun for quite some time due to the fires in the area.

He also said that some of the roads are closed due to the fires. He specifically mentioned Hwy 36 which goes from 101 to Red Bluff.

So you might want to check with CALTrans for road closures as the date gets closer.

Is that the one with 18 miles of hairpin turns populated with new rv drivers?
