SE 6 shift delay time
I have a 2015 F3's with thumb shift auto. Is it normal for approx 200+ ms between shifts? I have a Suzuki Hayabusa--actually I've had 3 of them. Using air shift solenoid is set at 50 millisec. I know the F3 is electric shift but it is a very long delay between engine cut off & upshift engagement. Is there anyway to reduce this shift time delay?
Thank you kindly,
Darrell

When up shifting are you holding the throttle steady, not letting off of it. If you let off the throttle when upshifting it can make for longer shifts. This tends to confuse the computer.

My F3-S SE6 also has a long delay when shifting. Has Wildrice resolved his shifting delay?

Did you check to make sure that the oil level in the engine is correct?
One of the ways that these bikes will tell you that they "need a drink", is by having the shifting start to get a bit on the wonky side...

I only get the delay up shifting from 1st to 2nd & 2nd to 3rd. I've learned to just get use to it.

My first automated manual transmission was a BMW M3 with DCT. That really spoils you. I have been through a number of vehicles without DCT and have always been disappointed with the amount of time it takes to shift. Until I got my F3 that is. I'm too old to register ms but I am happy as I can be with it. Unlike the DCT I do not believe it is faster than the manual but unlike others I do not believe it is slower either.

The SE always disengage the clutch between shifts. On my old sports bike I never used the clutch to shift, resulting in incredibly fast shifts.

I noticed the same problem with my f3 as well as my old 13 Sts.
the problem was solved with my Sts when I took it for the 3000 miles service and that is why I am not worried about the f3 acting the same way. Not sure how many miles u have on ur f3 but I believe once the engine is broken in properly and initial service is performed the lag would be unnoticeable

If you're counting the number of milliseconds between shifts; you are REALLY missing out on the important stuff...

shift delay cured itself after approx 800-1000 miles

F3's runs much better now with 1400 miles on it--I'm a short haul driver--longest ride was approx. 100 miles. I drove a few cars & motorhomes coast to coast a few times--just not interested in long rides anymore---fast rides are handled by my 2007 stage 2 turbo Hayabusa...It's a spiritual experience. Wife loves the F3's over any other 2 wheel bikes I've owned--so do I. Slow speed--3-5 mph parking lot maneuvers have taxed m balance co-ordination--especially with a rider sitting higher with more balance leverage. Besides some vibration issues---larger saddlebags would be great--but paying $1300 the 1st time slows my change out process. It looks like the 2016's F3 touring saddlebags have increased volume---it's always something.. 35 degree temp in central Ohio & my SUV with heated seats won today:-)
