Default Solution for blind people seeing dash info

Having a difficult time seeing the info on the dash, I ordered up this item: http://www.ebay.com/itm/121648340413...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT This is 3x

Cut it down to 4"x3.5" I cut it out of the center, but now realize that I could have used the side. I also could have made it about 4.5"x4". Used some 3/8" plastic with peel and stick stuff and I also used velcro. Adjust distance out from dash for optimum magnification. Of course if the sun is behind you there is still an issue seeing the info. Sunglasses also can be a problem.

    109 Outside, and 102 Inside??
You've got some serious heat working there!
...And I could actually read that without a magnifying glass!

That was 109 at 6PM and 102 at 9PM. We have had over 100 for 2-3 weeks now with no let up. While joining up with the North to Alaska bunch it was 115. Bike handled great and with a couple of home made cool vest not so bad. A dew rag keeps the sweat from the helmet.

Today ran around some 105 the "lens" hasn't moved.

    Default Updated Version

I didn't make it wide enough and it was too low at the top, so I bought another sheet, this time without the lighted plastic for $4 shipped. It maybe too wide now as I don't see the RPMs and Speed analog. I'm still testing until I figure how much to trim off.

What is the device where the analog temperature gauge used to go? Thanks.

It appears to be a voltmeter.

That is a power plug, with a digital voltage thing that plugs into the plug. This is like it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/DIGITAL-DUAL...item5b15fe5b02

Better solution for blind people, if your blind don't drive.
    I like the power plug!

    Default UPDATE

After using it a bit, I made the following changes: I needed to use super glue on the peel and stick Velcro as the heat melted the sticky stuff. Adding super glue seems to have solved that issue. Also the way fennel lens are they only really work straight on, so I needed to cut it down a little so that the analog MPH and RPMs can be seen at the sides. The end result is 5.5" wide and about the same top to bottom.

    John,
Don't forget to remove it before going to the bathroom; you'll just scare yourself!

It's a great idea but watch you don't get the sun's rays hitting it in the right spot so you burn a hole in your cluster. These magnifying glasses can be used to start fires too! I had a friend with a CanAm ATV install one in front of his GPS to read the screen better. One day he moved the magnifier out of the way while we were stopped to take a break. Next thing I saw smoke coming from his dash plastic. He now has a souvenir hole there to remind him of how powerful the sun's rays can be through a magnifying glass!
