    Default Need replacement ABS sensor

Mechanic was changing balljoint (upper left) on my '05 RS SM5, and ABS sensor "magically" snapped off.
BRP Australia has none in stock, and it will take 3 - 4 weeks to get one from Canada.
I understand the Spyder uses an off the shelf Bosch system, does anyone know of a car, or another type of bike that uses the same sensor, or am I limited to a genuine BRP sensor ?
    ps.
I've ordered F3S ( Australian release is approx 20th June)
Looking forward to getting my hands on that !!
    Cheers, Michael.

    Default sensor

Can't help you re the sensor -- but if it was me I'd be asking the dealer for a loan spyder for the time being. Or they could take one off one of their spare unsold spyders for you, pending 4 weeks+ on delivery of the replacement ...

Good question. I don't recall anyone ever figuring out the matching automotive part. Sorry. I do believe you are correct and the ABS sensor system is from Bosch. If you do find a matching sensor let us know.

    thanks guys for the input.
auto electrician contacted Bosch Australia, who were unwilling to help.
one of my sons is flying to California next week, so he will buy one and mail it back to me.

I have helped a few Auzzie's recently with parts. At least 3 so far

Next time if you want I am willing to get the part for you and ship it. We can do it via Paypal.

    Cool

To be fair the dealer's tech broke it thus it's down to the dealer to replace it. It's also up to him to source and pay for the new sensor.
He needs to get in touch with either one of the independent parts stockists either in Oz or the US.
Martin Bell at Spyder Ryders . au may be able to help source it.
