Ready for my first Spyder wash...How do you keep your Spyder looking new???
Well I have been riding for about a week now and I got a little over 500 miles. I take my Spyder out anytime I have a chance. Here in Texas you will defiantly get your fair share of bugs on your vehicle that can make cleaning a bear. So I'm ready for my first Spyder wash and was wondering what would be the best way to approach this to help keep it looking new. Don't want to use anything that would mess up the finish. I'm guessing a detergent for washing cars would be fine? Any do's or dont's on the subject would be greatly appreciated.
...but you might want to try some of Lamont's Super Cleaner Spray-in-a-can. Only cost about $3,000 or so. (Not fair to you - this is an inside joke known to all that attended the auction at Spyderfest).
I use one of those micro fiber cloths to dry the bike - helps prevent water spots on my bike.

First and foremost, don't use a pressure washer. Water gets into the electronics and will screw up your till it dry's out.
Gentle if you give it a bucket wash. I use a damp cloth around the rocker switches, handlebar controls, and gauges.
Have taken to using armour all cleaning wipes on a regular basis. No bucket wash all last season. I did use the hose around wheel rims and exhaust system.
For super detailing, the products mentioned above are probably the way to go.
Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.
I use a quality car wash soap & water from a bucket... rinse with a light spray from a hose... then I blow dry my Spyder with a electric leaf blower to get rid of the water in the hard to reach places.... & use some Turtle Wax spray to keep the shine .. don't forget Armour the tires..
I on the other hand don't use soap and water at all. Plexus, protect-all, plex-rx and now Black Diamond and a microfoft towel and air. Tire shine for the wheels and WD-40 on the controls and matte plastics. Spyder still looks new...this is my way..

Bucket wash it with soap and water like any other vehicle. It won't hurt a thing. I use compressed air from my air compressor to blow dry only because of the multiple nooks and crannies that make it difficult to dry.
Take it out in a heavy down pour of rain and ride as fast as you can
Bugs will wash off
and when rain stops air will blow dry it.

Same here, never use a hose and bucket on the Spyder.
I use Chemical Guys V07 detailer (mostly because I already use it on the GT, while its not cheap, there is none better) and Plexus for the windshield. If the bugs are especially bad on the front, the plexus does that too. I will likely try a can of Lamonster's spray rather than Plexus when I run out.
Rain-X for plastics on the windshield after clean to help KEEP the bugs and gunk off.
For the wheels, they get a coat of Armor All wheel protectant every 6 months. Brake dust and road gunk just rinses off.
Dawn dish soap (great stuff) bucket wash and a misty hose off. I do not bucket wash or spray the dash area.
Shammy it all dry, pop open all the compartments and dry the cracks and gaps.
Had wax with Turtle Wax Ice.
Plexus for cleaning the wind shield, display, and mirrors.
On the plastics I shine them up with Nu-Vinyl. I am with JC no Armour-all!!!
Tire rubber I use a tire cleaner (forget the name).
I do this type of cleaning about every 6 months. In-between I touch up clean with a micro-fiber cloth and plexus.
This is what a 2011 can look like with a full detail like that

Is it hard to remove the plastic dash panel that covers the speedometer? at some point I got water running down from the inside. Im more careful now not to get hose spray on the dash.
