I have 4 jackets: Can-Am mesh, Can-Am denim, Can-Am Leather, and an old HD leather. (I don't have armor in any of my gear.) I have the leather pants that match the jacket. I have a Shoei RF-1200 helmet, as well as a Scorpion modular and a half-helmet, but it's the Shoei I mostly use. My boots are TCX X-Street high-top sneakers.
i could never dress the way you people dress up. in the colder weather i have a flannel shirt a pair of jeans and a army jacket, than i dress down to a flannel shirt and a carheart short jacket and jeans. summer time i am in a light denim jacket or just a short sleeve shirt and jeans.

Jean and t-shirt in summers for sure and no helmet when I can.

quite a collection of gear. Good stuff and would have similar gear if ryding a crotch rocket. Depending on the ryde I dress appropriately. Good helmet for sure (modular for different areas) good gloves, good leather footwear, long sturdy pants and good jacket ( I have a built armor lined with liner). But the rest is more what you feel comfortable with after all you are ryding a vehicle that is not apt to fall over..jmo...

That guy is terrible for wearing jeans/t-shirt! It has to be a black tee because when you eat in a Mexican restaurant and dribble salsa all over your belly it doesn't show much on the black tee. There... THAT is how you dress for all us fashionistas! And wear socks.... old people ankles are ugly!
I have lots of gear but why wouldn't I since I was the general manager of an International Internet business and local shop selling apparel and accessories for 8 years. I am pretty much an ATGAT (all the gear all the time) person but, I do dress down sometimes in hot weather. Pretty sold on wearing mesh jacket and riding pants over t-shirt and shorts in the summer. I do cheat and wear closed toe Teva sandals on short rides in hot weather. Just bought the new Nolan N-44 helmet and I NEVER get on my bike without it on my head.
I always told my customers that "even though you don't want to wear protective gear when it gets hot, it makes sense to do so because: You ride more during that time of year , many more riders are also out there and all the teenage kids are out driving around in the summer."
Hope that helps.

I know, its all left over from my Honda VFR 1200 days, a bike that can do 160 mph, so I just keep wearing it.
I put on what is appropriate for the situation. The Joe Rocket jacket is waterproof, the BILT has a mesh front that is great in the summer. I don't need the Kevlar shirt with the leather jacket, but for the textile, I wear it for warmth or when I am at highway speeds. The Elbow pads are for the textile jacket because the elbow pads in that jacket don't line up with my elbows well. I do always wear the boots and chin guards. So I won't leave home with out them.
I was hit by a car and it messed up my shins and back. My X wife had it even worse. She got a broken pelvis and is in long term therapy for that.
Once a person has been in a motorcycle accident, it changes one's perspective. I now understand what a car can do to the human body. So I take safety seriously.
When somone asks me why are you wearing the armour your on three wheels and you are not tipping over , my answer is I'm not worried about going down on my Spyder like a two wheeler but I figure if I'm in an accident I'm going to be launched and the gear will lessen the road rash , Dress for the SLIDE not the Ride .
Too much gear to show. Have leather, textile, mesh, and 6 assorted Nolan helmets. My jackets cover two 6 ft. clothing racks in the garage.
I have pulled the armour out of the stuff, because I do not like the bulk of it. Have a large box of just assorted armour pieces.
I do believe in ATGATT and most of the time I comply.
Well, I'll post a pic of me in my gear. I think it's pretty much well hidden. People expect to see riders wearing a jacket, helmet, gloves and boots. My Kevlar and knee pads are pretty much hidden. Dianese makes there gear very streamline so I don't look like Robocop wearing it.

Lots of bad things can happen on a three wheeler. Mostly a high side.
I also notice people on scooters don't wear much gear if any. They seem to assume that their small bike means they can't get hurt as bad as on a motorcycle. I mean, a forty mph slide is a forty mph slide if you are on a big Harley or a 50cc scooter.
I just upgraded to the Klim Induction Jacket (Karbonite mesh and D3O armor) and I wear a Shoei RF100 full-face helmet. I use tactical shooting gloves (for the tactile feel). My lower body changes based on the weather... sometimes tennis shoes, other times Vasque hiking boots.
I recently heard, and saw it again on this post... dress for the slide, not the ride... like it!! Rider protection is a personal preference... I know guys that wear none because when they wreck, they want to end it... I'd like a bit more chance of survival! I've died once... why invite a second time!!
