Any battery recommendations except the OEM battery?
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Sharon:
If advice from a Spyder rider of five years who has gone the battery replacement route on four RT's so far (two of mine and two of my wife), is worth listening to......stick with the Yusa battery. The OEM is the best for these machines.
Penny and Rick have owned many motorcycles starting in 1974 with Hondas, then to Suzukis, Gold Wings and ultimately Spyders.

Yusa has a high tech battery that will fit your spyder. Can't remember the price. I was going to put one in my '12 RTL, was going to have to wait to long to have it shipped so it did not happen.

I replaced the OEM with an Odyssey in my 2012 RT. Odyssey is a great battery. I would stay away from Yusa.

Believe it or not this is one time where the OEM item is the all around best solution considering cost vs. performance.

Be careful of the -BS batteries!
YTX24HL-BS
I replaced mine 6 months ago with a non-OEM but listed as a replacement for the YTX24HL. I got it online for $96.
It was a -BS model which means bottle filled at the time of shipment. My new battery is not doing great. It seems to have much less cold cranking AMPs. If I stop for say 10 minutes and leave the key on, when I go to start, sometimes the screen will reboot because the battery voltage is dropping too low!
A waste of $100 basically. I will be replacing it with a OEM soon or something else with higher rated cold cranking AMPs.
