    Default Fredom Trailer

I'm the process on purchasing my first Spyder, RT LTD, I also want to purchase a color match trailer. My question is, now it seems the they only sell a the Freedom trailer (not color matched), but there are still some color matched RT 622 trailers available. Does any know why the discontinued the color match RT 622 trailers, is thee an issue with the RT 622 trailer

The 622 is a great trailer. I think the only issue they had in general was the high price. There are probably a few left out there, but the supply is going to dwindle. You may have to have one shipped...and for that is you find a local one, you could have it painted or wrapped...

The price point was too high so in order to bring the price down the trailer had to be made cheaper. I do not like the freedom trailer it looks cheap and not worth the money. JMHO
I will be hanging on to my RT622 trailer and have it painted to match future spyders.

I don't know anything about the quality of the Freedom trailer, but there is nothing wrong with the 622's. The 622 is bigger and has 2 doors, making it easier to load/unload. If you can find a 622 at a reasonable price, I'd snag it as soon as possible.

You are so right. Had a chance to see one at a Can Am demo. For a $1000.00 less if you want a Trailer do yourself a and get a MiniTrailer from a site sponsor. Yes it just screams cheap to bad.
    Just sayin my 2 cents.

    Default TRAILERS

Frankly there are so many less expensive and IMHO better trailers out there..............and there is " PAINT " ............and any decent Paint shop can get it close enough so that you or anyone else will never tell the difference , Because it doesn't touch/ contact your Spyder .....ask a paint PRO about it ....Mike

They are out of business according to their website. Nice trailers though.

I was thinking Cognac, but I think I will be going with the black Freedom trailer and getting it painted, seems to be the better option (cheaper)

If you do go the paint route , I suggest you check out VHT Burnt Copper sp402 (?) from Auto store ......You can get it in qts and have a paint shop use it ......It will save you a small fortune instead of BRP paint.....Some of us here have used it and may chime in on the matching factor ......Mike

We use ours at least four times a year, usually more given we can make use of more of our vacation time.

Yeah, new they are not cheap, but find a used one and they're not a bad deal.

It's all going to come down to personal preference and what you want to do with your money.

But if the main question is "what's wrong with it that it got replaced by this new model?", my reply would be absolutely nothing. I've seen the new freedom trailer up close and would not give up my 622 for one that's for sure.

    That's my .02

I wonder if the Freedom's tail lights are pointing to the next generation RT styling?

Post Rt-622 vs Freedom vs ......

Looking at 2013 rt-622 for $3500. But..... If you buy non-Can Am trailer.. what effect on spyder warranty .. and what about power module on trailer hitch.... will it work properly with "off brand" trailers?

Default Freedom Trailer - OK, but if you already have an RT-622, hang on to it.

I have never owned an RT-622, but purchased a Freedom Trailer to compliment my new 2015 RT-S.

The Freedom Trailer will serve the purpose, but it has nowhere near the refinement of the RT-622. The 622 main shell is one-piece. The Freedom Trailer is assembled over an inner skeleton/frame with body panels. You can see the body panels clearly (a bit unsightly) when you open the lid. Also, the fender cuts are true, but have a very evident appearance of being 'cut out'. I am installing edge guard to mitigate this. Finally, while the MSRP of the Freedom Trailer is $1K less than the entry point on the RT-622 (even the pre 2014 622s are going for retail), in order to bring the Freedom Trailer its highest standard, you are still going to spend almost $1K to purchase chrome trim for tail/lid and sides, a knife stand, inner liner, and storage cover. Had one interesting anomaly ... the keys that came with my FT don't work in its lock, so I'll have the dealer take care of that. Looks like a build/QC issue where they didn't set the key cylinder to the keys themselves. To access the lock cylinder on the FT, one has to remove the entire rear panel of the trailer.

The FT hooks up easy and tows great, just like the 622.

    That is my story
