Default One thing you can check..

...make sure transmission is in neutral. Manual shows how to do this - from under the bike. (once had to do this on my 2010 RT)

Another suggestion for future use. When you shut the bike down, place transmission in Neutral first - set brake - turn key off. Now when you want to start the bike, you no longer need to press the brake petal -- you can start the bike from either side of it as well.

Does the display come up when you turn the key on?

if not, battery may have drained.

    Default Little checking..!!

what happens when you hit the starter button..? Do you get a click..? Do the dash light fade or go out..? It is sounding like you have a low battery. Try hooking a jumper battery to yours and see if it starts up. How you turn it of should not be an issue. The computers reset when off. You may not have actually turned the acc off and drained the battery some...

As clearly stated in the owners manual. A SE5 model will start in gear. In fact I made a video showing my SE5 starting in fifth gear. There should be no need to put it in neutral manually first as long as everything is working properly. This myth just does not want to go away. As long as your foot is pressing on the brake pedal hard enough to make the brake light come it does not matter if it is in gear.

So everything lights up. Your foot is on the brake pedal. ( the brake lights are on.) The run switch is in the on position. What exactly happens when the starter button is pushed?

    Default Video staring in gear.

Video showing my Spyder being started in 5th gear and shifting to neutral on it's own after starting.

A 998 engine SE5 Spyder will start in any gear.
All 998 engines will start no matter how much oil is in them.
A 998 engine SE5 Spyder may not shift to neutral after starting if it does not have enough oil, but will start.
Adding oil because it is low when it has not been run recently runs a high risk overfilling it.

The bottom line is I don't know why the OP Spyder did not not start, but it has nothing to do with the oil level.

It was a little overfilled , and i siphon some out. I know the oil level shouldn't be a factor. But that what I did add oil, rock the bike and step on brake pedal. Still not 100% sure on why it didn't start. No problem since.

Glad you got it fired up. Too bad you did not find the root cause. I just wanted to head off any misconceptions that could delay a fix for others experiencing something similar.
