DHS......What A Joke
Ever been to the Department Of homeland Security site?
If not >>>> http://www.dhs.gov/
How about this...
They have a "if you see something, say something" page.... http://www.dhs.gov/see-something-say-something
Which basically says "Call 911" !!!!!
Why the heck do they need funding??? Why are they even a department????
Really?
This freaking admin is just wasting sooooo much of our money.
I didn't have a clue til I tried to report something today, I guess that is why they get away w such things.

DHS was created by the previous administration, like it or not. Once formed, these departments are very difficult to undo. And yes, I worked in Washington DC for a bit.

The Coast Guard was under the Department of Transportation during peacetime before being transferred to DHS.

DHS wasn't created by any administration. It was first proposed by the U.S. Commission on National Security/21st Century in January 2001, chartered by then SecDef William Cohen in 1998. It was created on November 25, 2002, by the Homeland Security Act of 2002 as a direct result of the September 11th terrorist attack.

The President proposes to create a new Department of Homeland Security, the most significant transformation of the U.S. government in over half-century by largely transforming and realigning the current confusing patchwork of government activities into a single department whose primary mission is to protect our homeland. The creation of a Department of Homeland Security is one more key step in the President’s national strategy for homeland security."

I thought that we already had a department to protect our homeland, the Department of Defense, consisting of the Dept of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and the Marine Corps. All DHS does is confuse, conflict, corrupt, and provide government jobs to people who have severe "little big man syndrome" issues. Whenever I go through a airport and see the many DHS employees that outweigh me by a 100 pounds, I think, yeah, I feel really secure with you protecting us.
