    Default The new 2016 RT?

There was a discussion on Facebook about if an RT will be built on the F3 frame and styling in 2016.

Someone either drew this or found it somewhere.

    What do you think?
    I might actually like it

Adds some class to the John Deere look!

Looks nice, but I am still in love with my 2014 RT. Now if they were to put the 1330 into the ST platform, then I would have something to consider.

But what if this was a reality?

Personally, it is not cost effective for BRP to continue to run 2 manufacturing lines for frames. I am going to bet that this will happen eventually and all models will be built off this new F3 frame.

If it was reality; I'd be disappointed...
Why would you intentionally reduce the cargo capacity of a bike designed for Touring??

Who says you would reduce the frunk? It does not have to be the same frunk as on the F3 like the RS and RT are not the same. I am just suggesting the same frame and "styling" for the new RT. The plastic is just that, bolt on "stuff" to the frame.

No real regret, I just really like the bold look of the grill on that bike. I'll be driving my 14 until the wheels fall off and maybe beyond that.

    Default Gotta say..!!

putting the rear end of an RT on the front of an F3 just ain't cutting it for me.. but then I'm not crazy about the F3 anyway in pictures or in person...but nice for those who do..so will trailers be included with all 16's...

The frames are all the same from 2013 on. Only the subframes are changed.

And I don't think you'll see this or any version of it.

A nice fantasy picture. Also in the camp that it would be a loss in cargo carrying capacity, which is what most RT owners want.

I note the boss has stated there will be no such iteration in the future.

Waiting to see what's new from BRP in 2020 Or, who else may have entered the market by then.

My vision of a slam-dunk change/update to the RT would be a slight re-shaping to accommodate the U-Fit leg positioning system that the F3 enjoys. Otherwise, I'm very happy with my newly-acquired 2014 RT Limited.

I think the RT riders would be happy if the increase in engine performance of the F3 made it into the RT line in 2016.

Not a fan of the "imagined '16 F3 RT". BRP got it right when they designed the 2014 RT. The only changes I would make or add to the OEM equipment list is a beefier sway bar and a LED HMT running/brake light. I love my 2014 RT Limited!!!

Default Why not a 2016-2017 Spyder RT with a F3 type top fill gas tank

    Hi Lamont,
It would be a shame if BRP Spyder engineers ignore the fact that majority of Spyder RT owners/riders want a top fill F3 type gas tank.
I would think BRP engineers could fit a F3 gas tank on 2016 Spyder RT by removing glove box, molding panels to fit around F3 gas tank.
Keep rest of RT the same as present 2015 RT's for storage, etc.
    Just my 2 cents.
    Jim

I have been waiting to hear this from someone for a long time. I have a 85 vmax named storm built by mad max, 144 at the rear wheel and it was not running good. I dream one day of installing it in a spyder. deer slayer.

The "increase in engine performance" is more about lower gearing and less weight; than anything else.
