Spyderfest - Cuba, MO
Rode in with some (a lot) of fear...unknown territory....crazy biker people....what if this, what if that. Sat self down and had conversation that went something like: OK if you ride in you CAN ride out!!! DUH...no brainer....lesson learned (again)...fear of the unknown can be such a joy robber/paralyzer for me.
What did I find? Well, reallllly just hung back and watched...that lasted about 10 seconds after I got in line to pick up registration and the first friendly started chatting...that was 2011...already registered for Spyderfest 2015 and it is my #1 premium GO TO event...2300+ miles to get there but oh sooooo worth it.
Why? The people first and foremost...after the folks the rest is just icing on the cake: Tremendous vendors, activities. All of this created, orchestrated and "run" by Vanessa/ Mrs. Pitbull Powersports, MoGang and my attitude of gratitude and adventure.
Have done others since: Spyders in the Redwood; Owners Event; Flamingobabe and Hotglues Memorial Weekend BBQ....all nice...but Memorial Weekend is my #2 go to (2016 again for me).
Hope to meet you at Spyderfest 2015...if not then maybe on the road.
Happy travels.
My Motto Is:
Live my life in such a way that when my feet hit the floor in the morning...Satan shudders & says "Oh, crap, SHE'S awake!"

Mine was SpyderFest 2013, the first year it was in Springfield/Ozark, instead of Cuba. I had actually made reservations to camp in Cuba, then had to cancel it.
Like MurphyBrown, I stood back and watched, but then I just dived in and found I could swim! It is also my #1 event. It just keeps getting better and better. I've made so many friends and I'm grateful for all the people who make it possible and for the people who attend.
If I have much money left after Spyderfest this year, I may try the Memorial Day event in Texas. I'm also going to the SpyderPalooza in Sept.
I have to say I don't think I've ever been to an event I didn't have fun at.

Maggie Valley BRP owner's event in 2012. I still can't believe they served us prime rib with real sauce Bernaise with real silverware on real plates.

Have not had the pleasure of attending an owners event yet.
When I got the first in 2008 I was pretty much alone here in Alaska. We added a second in 2009 so there was one more.
Found SL in Feb 2010. Have met a few SL's in person when they visited Alaska. Also looking forward to meeting more this June when the intrepid travelers arrive.
It is not looking like I will ever be able to meet folks out East, but maybe, if something is held closer than a couple thousand miles...
Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.
Previously : 2008 GS-SM5 (silver), 2009 RS-SE5 (red), 2010 RT-S Premier Editon #474 (black) 2011 RT A&C SE5 (magnesium) 2014 RTS-SE6 (yellow)
MY FINAL TALLY: 7 Spyders, 15 years, 205,500 miles
IT HAS BEEN A LONG, WONDERFUL, AND FUN RIDE.

The 2013 Owner's Event in Maggie Valley was my first Spyder gathering. I had just gotten my motorcycle endorsement in the middle of April and in June I rode 950 miles from Iowa to Maggie Valley. I took 3 days to ride down and the third day I met up with about 20 other Spyder riders in Lexington KY, and we caravan'd to Maggie Valley. Met some great people and had a great time.
After the Owner's event, I went to Lamont's barbecue and actually met Lamont. What a nice guy. Met more people there and then took another 3 days to ride back to Iowa. It's a trip I'll never forget.
Last spring, my wife and I experienced Spyderfest. The day we left it was 40 degrees and the wind was blowing 25-30 miles an hour with a threat of rain. It was my wife's first trip on the Spyder and she never complained. We had a great time at Spyderfest and we are coming back this year (hopefully with a guitar).
See you all there.
Tony

Last year I went to Middle Wahington meet, then the Spyders in the Redwoods. This year I am planning Spyderfest (my first) and another Spyders in the Redwoods. I may add to the list since it's only Jan. Leaving for a 2 week cruise in the carribean next week and have not figured out how to take the spyder with me.

1st Spyder event was SpyderFest 2012, last one in Cuba, MO. Hadn't received my Spyder yet so I felt like I was at the High School prom without a date. Everyone else was having fun, I was just observing. Really, I met many people and realized it didn't make any difference if I had a Spyder to ride or not. Would have been more fun if I was on my Spyder.
SpyderFest 2013 and 2014 #1 and #2 in Springfield
Bikers for Babies - Kansas City - 2013 and 2014
Spyder Rendezvous 2014
2015 -
SpyderFest - registered (along with my accomplices, Cruzr Joe, KMort44 and Moike from Australia)
Memorial Day BBQ in TX (strongly considering)
Spyder Rendezvous - WI planning on it
Spyder Palooza - MO planning on it
Bikers for Babies - Kansas City for sure

So far I think I have the oldest event and that being SITS in 2009 and Lamont's BBQ, but there was an event before this one. Wondering if anyone was at, other that Lamont the year before still here.

I think my first one was SITS in 2009(?) Not long after I bought my 2008 GS. Anybody on here remember the Gentleman was certain TN was not a helmet state and did not get far, when he got nailed by the law. The next year he had a helmet covered in hair. Then second or third version of Spyderfeast in Cuba with 300 Spyders ? lamoster BBQ, Owners event are all great fun and great people. If you can make them, you will enjoy them.
Thanks for all the great time by all the sponsors. I am no longer able to travel much, but wish the best travels to all of you.
