Second review in as many weeks that hit the Slingshot for its brakes. Guess Polaris knows what needs tweaking for the next model year.
Silver 2010 RS SE5: Triple Play, Taillight, Brightsides, Fender Tips, Easy Risers; Evo Sway Bar; Airhawk R & Beadrider; latch springs; Grab-On grips; Crampbuster; 24" Madstad smoke windshield & deflectors; N-R round bag & soft saddlebags; BRP handlebar bag; Throttlemeister; Spyderpops Missing Air Dam & Air Mgmt System; Rivco driver & passenger boards & pegs; ISCI parking brake extension; Ultimate Midrider Seat w/both backrests, Fox Racing Shocks, Yoshi R-77 exhaust and a whole lotta love!

Let's see if they listen as closely as BRP does...

Last Saturday, the wife and I went to Tousley Cycle in White Bear Lake MN to see the Slingshot. The top of the line red one was on display right inside the front doors. Talking with a salesman yielded some interesting information. They had got 2 delivered the day before. One was immediately sold and the other one is on display. Apparently, they have already sold 9 basically sight unseen. The supply of these is going to be very slow delivery. If I put money down that day, I could expect to get it next AUGUST 2015.
I offered to drive the salesman to my bank and get a check from my account to buy the display model. No way says the salesman.
I sat in the display model and it is bigger than I thought it would be. Pedals are very close together. Shifter action is very short. Small luggage compartment behind each seat. Fit and finish are very nice.
I want one.
There are other dealers to check out.072614-polaris-slingshot-WDP_4772_©Polaris2014_Slingshot.jpg

No demo available and winter is here along with snow, ice, and salted roads. Hundreds of accidents, roll overs, and trips into the ditch. Maybe a test next April or May.

I still don't see the purpose of the Slingshot and where and when you would drive it. Can't go out with a group of other riders. Just saying.

Motorcycle??
Only in wheel count, but not in any other way. You sit in it like a car and you drive it like a car. Just having three wheels might satisfy some legal definition of what constitutes a motorcycle, but doesn't necessarily translate as being one to motorcyclists. I'd rather be straddling a saddle seat and steering with handlebars while twisting a hand throttle. But that's just me.

Hi George,
That has been reported in here as well... They'll probably get all of that sorted out eventually!

Texas will not allow them to be sold/registered here because it is classified as a motorcycle. Texas law states that a motorcycle has to saddle stye seating. The slingshot is side by side.

Thanks Dave
I was wondering how close the pedals are to each other..Even In my toyota tacoma, I've been known to have my foot on the brake and gas at the same time, so I have to be careful

Hi Scott
They are close but not that close, I have owned a bunch of sports car over the years
MG'S, Triumphs, I even got stuck with a Fiat 850 " piece of crap" and the pedals are about the same as them
you get used to them, my wife said take your pick an Elio or a Slingshot then she found out what the slingshot cost
and the Elio cost and said lets go for it. She likes the Elio because of the doors and windows, Got a lot of seat time in one at SEMA this year.

Hi Joe,
Thanks for the link.
BTW, is that an Ibis in your avatar? If so, did you build it?

Jerry,
No, that is a 1/3 scale RC model of my design. I call it the Aerodigm Model 206E. I hope to make full scale kits - someday.
I don't know what an Ibis is. I will have to Google it.
Thanks,
Joe T.
