    Default Ultimate seat - issue

Has anyone had an issue with sliding while seated on the Ultimate seat? I had no issues with the stock seat but I slide forward when braking hard and backward when accelerating. If so, does anyone have any ideas on reducing the slide without making the seat sticky to the touch.

Every Ultimate and Corbin seat that I have sat on makes me slide forward too so I stick with my vinyl BRP Comfort Seat. I don't even have to be braking and they make me slide. Have you asked Ultimate what they suggest?

I don't mean to sound... whimsical about this.

You know that it happens; keep your feet planted, and your hands on the bars. You'll never hit the dash panels!
What are you using to clean the seat? Armor-All?

    Default Bob

Bob, the seat is 1 month old - no product whatsoever has touched the seat. Nor does the seat need cleaning at this point. Unlike you I don't crap my pants every time my ass hits the seat.

Kidding aside, that's the same thing they asked when I called Ultimate. I don't even keep Armorall in the house--I am very aware of its affects and have been for 20 years since the time a carwash douched my then car with the stuff and made my car's interior a bouncey house. Please keep the thoughts and suggestions coming.

I have a heated corbin seat . It has been on the spyder for about 12,000 miles and I still slide around on the seat.
I use corbin saddle cream on the seat and it is still slippery. I just make sure I hang on and am aware of it all the time.
The seat is very comfortable for me so its just a little inconvenience for me. I don't like the stock seat with the bump pushing into my lower back.

I had one of my seats that was slippery enough for my wife to slide into me on stops. I went to the local sporting goods store and in the baseball section they had a towel with a substance for batters to hold onto the bat. It wasn't rozin but provided some grip without making a mess.

I am thinking its the finish on the leather that corbin uses. Its a smooth shiny finish . When I first saw my corbin seat I thought that the smooth finish would eventually rub off,but not the case.
I thought by using corbin saddle cream that would add grip but it did not.

Sort of a bother but how about using rubber shelf liner? Everything sticks to that but not permanently. You could roll it up and stick it in your pocket when you get off.

A sheepskin or an Airhawk will solve the problem. My Corbin felt like a greased skid sometimes, but I learned to live with it. No seat treatments for me either.

I've missed this entire exchange . . . I spent the afternoon in the garage, sitting on Topper and making motorcycle sounds . . . is it Spring, yet?

Try using a kitchen cabinet non-skid mat. That will work, or double my suggestion back.

Ultimate seats and Corbins cost way too much to have to stick something on the seat so you won't slide off. And how tacky (pun intended) would that look on your $1,000 seat to have a non skid cabinet liner stuck to it.

Wazoo, my .02 is send the seat back for a refund if it isn't comfortable for you. Good luck

Ann. Only someone with more money than brains would spend that kind of money on a seat and have to add something on top of it.. Send it back.

Holly and I tried a Corbin seat and it was the biggest piece of seat. Every time I hit the brake Holly would slide forward and crash into me. It only lasted a few short rides on my Spyder before I removed it and we found it wasn't anymore cushy on our tushy than the stock seat.
