Campaign (or recall)
Anyone heard of a campaign or recall on 2104 RTs for loose windshield screws and gas caps? Yes, I know gas caps were replaced on previous models. I checked on the BRP site but didn't see anything. This came from someone else.

might be one of those secret bulletins, if you complain you get it fixed. it is done on cars all the time

I've heard complaints about both; but nothing about a T.S.B. for them.

Agree..!!
saw some posts on other sites where they were getting calls from their dealers to come in to have the caps changed and windshields checked...nothing official though...

I asked my dealer a while back about the windshield and he didn't know anything and couldn't find anything on it. Only thing I've heard on the gas cap is what I have seen posted on Facebook.
Did you look at the NHTSA website or did you get a letter in the mail announcing a recall? If not, then this is a service bulletin or warranty campaign.

There is one on the W/S screws. Had mine done at the dealer in Bourne TX at the Hill Country Ride.

Have no idea Bob.Tech said you have a bulletin/recall for the windshield. I told him to go ahead and do it. Was there trying to get the key that the dealer had lost cut and programed. It was simple . Either they Tightened the screws or replaced them. Call BRP @ 888-272-9222, give the your VIN and they can tell you.

Windshield Screws
When I had my first service done on my 14 RTS back in Sept. the dealer said they had to replace all the windshield screw per BRP...

That's a YES on the Windshield Screw
While riding in September my windshield suddenly came loose and slid down almost to frunk. Was luckey enuff to find screw in street a block back. Was able to pull windshield back up and put screw back in and secure with duct tape until could get to dealer a few days later. Moral of story....always carry duct tape.

Traded my 2013 RT for a 2014. The dealer had to "find" a '14 leftover from another dealer. When he got it to the shop, he ran a computer check and found that my bike had NOT had the service completed. The screws in the bushings that attach the shield to the bike are VERY dainty little things with a big head - sorta like some of us here - anyhow, the screw heads snap off and the bushings fall out. A really bad scenario when you are going down the road! The service bulletin replaces the bushings and the the screw. Much beefier!! Also got a new gas cap that I didn't know needed! Just run you VIN thru the computer and it should tell you if you need the service! Cheers!

Had the upper left support screw back out on a ride... didn't notice it until I was doing a walkaround check for my next ride. The sheath (?) screw was still there, so I just quickly wrapped it in electrical tape so it wouldn't come out... drove it to the shop and they put a new screw in. Rocky (the Can Am at the Boernie shop) said they'd gotten a bulletin in to check them. He said, he though it was just not enough locktite on the tip of the screw, letting them back out.

Ran the VIN and nothing showed up so guess it's good to go.

To clarify, I ran the VIN on the BRP site. And it came up negative. I'll call Brewer Cycles and run it by them too. Bob, let us know what you find out.

"Ran the VIN on the BRP site..."
Can you point out the links for that process to me?

On the BRP site, under owners, go to safety. Then click on safety recalls by VIN.

The Canadian site does not have that feature. I wonder why not.
