Exactly, the warranty is not in your name, it is in the VIN #s Name. It transfers with the bike regardless of owner.

When the purchaser of your Spyder fills out 1 of the change of ownership cards found in the back of the owner's manual and mails it in with proof of new ownership, BRP will automatically send them the extended warranty documents for that Spyder.
I know, because I did this recently. It took me awhile to discover that there's a few pages of paper ownership transfer cards in the very back of the owner's manual (who reads the manual cover to cover???)... and I was surprised that a few weeks after mailing 1 in along with a copy of the bill of sale and my state license tags registration, I received a packet from BRP with all the extended warranty information for the Spyder I'd bought last year (the Seller never even mentioned that it had an extended warranty).

I didn't pay any such fee.
The BEST Extended Warranty has a $50 deductible for any covered repair.... I'm guessing that's the $50 you are thinking of. There is no fee to transfer the warranty, though.
