So true..!!
Always wise to slow down when traffic is present. Trust no one to do the right thing or even see you. Great clip... just 8 mph difference..

It pays to slow down. Yes it do! Never go through an intersection at the speed limit even if you have the green light or the other person has a stop sign.
Mentally they can be looking strait at you but their brain is looking for a car or truck. It simply does not register and some will pull out directly in front of you.
All my life I wanted to be somebody, now I realize I should have been more specific.

Hi Jack,
Re: their brain is looking for a car or truck.
^^^^ This.
I do not have any data but I have ( for myself ) concluded that the #1 killer of motorcyclists ( when it is a more-than-one-vehicle accident ) is: "I did not see them."

I believe it was 8 kilometers a hour from the vid and apparent location, a couple mile or less per hour

Officer On Scene
I've been the officer on scene to so many motorcycle accidents I can't even count anymore. Biggest contributors to serious injury or death have been no helmet, driving to fast or just DWHUB which is Driving with head up butt. Sure its been the cars fault plenty of times due to not looking or seeing the cycle but had the cycle rider been defensive driving if could have made a big difference in the outcome. Heads Up Gentleman. Don't take anything for granted. Drive Defensively.

Two recent accidents in Boise this past week with two outcomes. One with a helmet survives, the other without doesn't.
On the Interstate a guy gets squeezed by a car moving over into his lane and he side swipes the car to his left trying to keep from getting hit. Article doesn't say but speeds in that area are usually around 60. He's injured but survives.
BOISE -- Idaho State Police are investigating a multiple-vehicle crash that injured a motorcyclist on eastbound I-84 Friday morning. ... Watkins lost control of the motorcycle, it overturned and he was thrown from the bike. ... The severity of his injuries is unknown. ... Watkins was wearing a helmet and other protective gear, police said.
On the other one details weren't released but it was on a busy main thorough fare. A biker hits a pickup but he's not wearing a helmet. He died at the hospital.
The crash happened at about 1:55 p.m. in the westbound lane of W. Fairview Avenue near the intersection of N. Mitchell Street. Officers provided first aid to the male motorcyclist until paramedics arrived. He was taken to a local hospital but died soon after arriving. He was not wearing a helmet, police said.
Was speed a factor in these cases? I'd say yes and possibly. Traffic moves fast on the Interstate, but the biker survives in spite of the speed because of PPG. In the other case my speculation is the biker may have been going too fast to avoid a slow or stopped pickup. The accident was near an intersection, but apparently not in the intersection.
