GPS CELL PHONE BLUETOOTH

My cell phone is Bluetooth linked to my GPS, and when there is an incoming call, I can just barely hear the caller, and they can hardly hear me for the noise the Spyder makes. Has anyone experienced this? If so, how does one overcome it, or is the Bluetooth cell to GPS just a waste of technology and time? I wear a half shell helmet and do not use a full helmet with speakers and microphone.

i have the SCALA G9 and a SAMSUNG phone with GPS...
i've linked them together, and have NO issues whatsoever with communications...
have you tried turning up the volume...? with the SCALA, you can down-load from their website all kinds of things...

I have elderly in my family and the phone is a must if I want to ride. For it to work properly, you should either have a bluetooth headset or a wired headset. The GPS device mic and speakers cannot overcome the surrounding noise to make it worth it. Otherwise, just use the GPS screen as a notification of a call, pull off or over, and return the call that you missed.

My folks are 85 & 82...
If I'm on the road; there's NOTHING I can do for them, that can't be done upon my return.

We have the sena set on half shell helmets. We get music, gps, intercom and phone loud and clear in the helmet.

I have the Sena 10 and it works great. People can't even tell I'm on the Spyder they're surprised when I tell them I'm riding down the road while we're talking.

I agree with OP who eschew the phone on rydes; I too use ryding and riding (pedaling in my case) to get away from the blather of everyday life. That said, my hearing is so bad I can't hear squat without my Sena SMH10 from Motorcycle Dave--shameless plug! Yesterday I tried for the first time my Bluetooth dongle and the local NPR station on the radio through the headset. Blah, blah, blah--turned it off at the first errand stop. Maybe, just maybe there'll be some music in the future.

If you don't have a comm unit in your helmet, bluetooth is a waste of time and effort.

With a comm unit, audio would be better, and your GPS would double as a caller ID, answerer.

Without the comm unit, all you have is caller ID on your GPS.

I did get the dreaded call and was glad I was able to answer it. It was the last time I spoke to her and it was wonderful conversation.

Could be a problem with volume control in each device. Check phone, GPS and see if the volume is up.

As for answering the phone if I see who it is and want to talk to them I'm pulling over to the side of the road or into a parking lot to answer and continue the phone conversation when I'm stopped.

I would like to get phone calls from my cell phone & hear music & GPS on my 2014 RT limited..... can anyone tell me exactly what is needed to accomplish this ?

What model RT? If basic model then Bluetooth headset and pair it with phone. If you have built-in radio then Sena Bluetooth dongle along with Bluetooth headset.
