The Spyder Rally at Fontana, NC was this weekend. I rode over Saturday afternoon. It's only about an hour away for me. Lot's of Spyders of every flavor running about. Saw some nice ones and some that were "over done."

I too rode up for the afternoon. Lot's of bikes, vendors, a good turn out. I'll plan to go earlier next year. Beautiful fall colors on Hwy 28, one of my favorite roads.

We had thick fog a week ago leaving the Texas Hill Country Ride too. Must be a sign....

Sorry about the FOG.. We left around 10am ,clear sailing all the way home...
Nice meeting you too!!
Nice pictures! Next year I will try to be with you guys.
We were in the general area as well. We did a trip up to the Boone area and traveled down the BRP to Little Switzerland. I was hopping to see some nice color, but most of the leaves had fallen in the Boone area, but we did see some around Little Switzerland. I was also hoping to get some contrasting views of the bridge near Grandfathers Mountain. I did get some, but not with the color I was wanting. We also met 2 other spyder riders. We told them about the site, and hope they come aboard.

Saturday morning started out foggy, but it was an awesome day after the sun burned it off.

Forming up for the poker run! Dragon 1.jpg
The ride out on the Dragon was much better than the ride in after my alignment. (more about that later) no hands.jpg
Lots and lots of bikes! Look at the double no-hands on the second bike! tree of shame.jpg
At the beginning of the Dragon, here is the tree that has parts from most of the bikes that have crashed over the years.

I'll post more later!
For most of us Deal's Gap and the Tree of Shame is at the "end" of the Dragon. It begins in Tennessee where US 129 leaves Chilhowee Lake and heads up the mountain.

Wanted to give a shout out to Ricky Clayborn of Spider Comfort Laser Alignments. He did an awesome job on the alignment on my RTS! Riding the dragon in gave me a good reference point for when we rode out. It was much smoother, cornered better, and much easier to steer. Nice meeting you, Ricky and awesome job on the alignment!
