    Default F3 Trailer Hitch

Love the F3 in the Touring configuration but don't see anything about a hitch. Does anyone know if a hitch for the F3 is in the works? How about it Lamont, working on a F3 Hitch??

Will using aftermarket hitches void the warranty like BRP has stated about the RT hitches?

Will this be an after-market accessory you'll be selling to F3 owners?

I sat on one and talked to a regional factory rep to day because they had the new trailer there also. Said factory will not have one this year but will have one next year. I am sure it will read factory hitch is the only hitch that does not void the warranty.

Makes more sense to go with the trailer for $2,900 over the WALLET sized side bags.. Looks like I'll be holding on to my 622 for awhile 😃

I would like a hitch on the F3 also. I have a trailer. So a hitch would help a lot.

    Cool

I don't have a trailer....the 622 trailer is not permitted in the UK as it doesn't satisfy
certain regulatory parameters...can't remember what it failed on.....BUT

I do like the look of this:

    Very cool!

Looks like a Uni-Go trailer / they are great!!! I had one I pulled behind my 04 FJR 1300...
I didn't know they had a Spyder hitch / Something ELSE to think about... It would hold enough stuff too😎

    These are Australian made. http://madmaxtrailers.com

They come very highly recommended. If they work that well on a bike they'll be no
problem on a Spyder......might just be one of the solutions for the lack of storage space on the F3.

FWIW These trailers have 250 liters/60kg capacity which is a lot and you can wheel them into your hotel room
as they'll go through a standard door!

There's one in Des Moines, Iowa, that looks like the one in Jeff's link. It's $1000!

    Cool

OK....so last night I emailed the Australian company which makes the trailer.
I got a reply this morning!
    Here it is:

G'day Geoff, Delighted to hear from you mate. ^_^

At present there is only one Spyder that is set up and towing one of our trailers. The owner's name is Stephen Landman of Albury-Wodonga in Victoria, Australia. He has posted 6 demo videos of his Spyder & Mad Max Motorcycle Trailer on his YouTube Channel. (Which is the video above....OJ)

Stephen had his guys create the Spyder subframe mounted towbar that you see him using.

Personally, I strongly-favour the development and use of a Swingarm-axle area mounted towbar, which pivots vertically there, on bushes on a Rod that passes through the Spyder's hollow axle. A twin spar towbar will pass around the Spyder's rear wheel, and will feature a horizontal pivot at its rear centre area. This system is currently already being successfully used by two other single wheeled trailer manufacturers.

Price wise we are planning to keep our trailer's retail price down under AUD$3000. Freight and handling will be an additional amount.

Very impressed with the response time, bearing in mind that he replied on a Sunday!
I've always liked the way the Aussies run their businesses. Great service and no BS!
You ask for the price and they tell you.....without inventing an artificially low price to which extras must be added as is the case so often elsewhere.

Anyway, there you have it and I think it's a cracking trailer. Good capacity, very well made, and can be wheeled into your motel room when you're
    touring!

I can see now that is quite different from the one I saw on Craigslist. It's a nice-looking trailer. With needing a different hitch for the Spyder, is it that much better than a 2-wheel trailer that can be used with the OEM hitch?

    Cool

Good point Patti....but remember there's no such thing as an OEM hitch for the F3 yet and who knows
how long it'll take BRP to market one.
I think, taking into account the quality evident here, if this trailer can be brought to market for less
than AU$3000 which is around $2650 US there will be a fair amount of interest in this nice compact
trailer. Of course the shipping may prove to be a downside with those who shop on price alone but
if the quality is there and it's got a two year warranty then I think folk will go for it.

May I assume that you're not impressed, Jack? Is it because it's not made in the US?
If I wanted a trailer like this it would be easier for me to get it from Australia than from the US.
