f3
I'm listening to all this hype with the F3.
I'M STILL reserving my opinion
But is it the reason we buy a spyder is because it is different.
If i want a motorcyle i would buy one. Sure is a hell of a lot easier to press and roll throuth corners then steer
I realize BRP TRYING to capture the cruzier crowd. But a spyder is a spyder.
If i want a motorcycle i will buy one.
For all u old guys that want to relive u go.
i bought a spyder to enjoy the same feeling as the motorcycle.
It's a money thing.
SORRY IS WHAT it is.

I am am on my 3rd Spyder, and I bought them because I wanted them. I have ordered an F3 because I want one.
To me all the hype in the world won't sell me something. If I want it and can afford it I get it.
Without trying to be rude or a smarta$$, I dont get why people have to come to the F3 pages, and not
necessarily be negative, but by the same token are not positive.
Most that visit the F3 pages are thinking about getting one or looking for some positive comments about them.
We now have His and Hers Spyders.
Current Spyder, 2015 F3 Steel Black, Passenger Backrest, Blue Ridge Screen with Xcreen Extention, Akrapovic Muffler, Attitude Handlebars, Blades front rims, RT Swaybar,
Her Spyder 2011 Magnesium RSS Sportrack and Backrest, Comfort Seat, Grip Puppies, 3.5 inch Riser Bars, Wespyd Signature Swaybar. Hindle Muffler, Godiva Screen, Hiway Pegs Can Am Panniers

I do AGREE with you.
As i SAID I RESERVE my opinion. I will take one for a ride.
If i like it i may buy one. But i would buy because it is a spyder and i like it,
Has nothing to do with a motorcycle. I still enjoy a motorcycle ride, but would not by an f3 for that reason.
2 totally different animals. MY OPINION

Hype
A fad. A clever marketing strategy which a product is advertized as the thing everyone must have, to the point where people begin to feel they need to consume it.
To get extremely excited over something that's not that exciting ..
This is not hype, this thing is fun, it's motorcycle fun, it's really fast gocart fun. It's still a Spyder so it's taking nothing away from anything that is Spyder.
-
Its for sure not a fad or hype. At least not any more than any other new model to come down the pike.
Everyone gets excited about new models. Is it for everyone? No. But its really neat to have choices.

Not Stirring the Pot
I think we each have our own opinion regarding the new F3 and since nearly none of us have ever ridden one much less seen one in the flesh it's probably better to hold-off on any kind of judgement calls pro or con. Like I have said, it's growing on me but without any kind of firsthand experience with it that's about as far as I can take my remarks about it. Am I anxious to see one and demo ride it, heck yes I am!!!

I got to demo one in Daytona Saturday and it really impressed me, up until then I wasn't sure
I liked them but I'm a big fan now! So do a test ride when you get the chance and it just may win
you over. In my opinion BRP has another winner!

I like the F3 but not ecstatic about it.
I have my '11 RS SM and it runs like a scalded cat.
The F3 is a good lookin' machine but until I can get my feet under me instead of out front, the RS is safe.

I am liking that BRP is reaching out and giving us another model choice.
I have been one that always wanted latest and greatest. Over 40 assorted two wheelers should say something.
When came out (2008), I just liked it and put in a deposit. I bought the first one in Alaska although the dealer got his before I got mine. Since then, I have owned four more. An early SE5, a Premier RT-S (2010) and the new 2014 ACE 1330 RTS. I did not purchase a ST-S because I already had my 2008 farkled a bit beyond what the ST-S was offering.
I now ride because of necessity, since I cannot support the heavy cruiser machines that I used to love so much.
I am probably not getting a F3, but that is for financial reasons (mostly retired--and a couple million short--). Based on looks, (without the test ride--which is the way I have purchased all my 's), I could see that performance model as part of my stable. I will be nice and save them for you who are ready for the latest, greatest thing.
Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.
Previously : 2008 GS-SM5 (silver), 2009 RS-SE5 (red), 2010 RT-S Premier Editon #474 (black) 2011 RT A&C SE5 (magnesium) 2014 RTS-SE6 (yellow)
MY FINAL TALLY: 7 Spyders, 15 years, 205,500 miles
IT HAS BEEN A LONG, WONDERFUL, AND FUN RIDE.

Having seen and sat on one in Daytona, the only reason I don't have one on order right now is the lack of storage, even with a tour pack. Don't know if I can get past that.
When my dealer has them in later in the year I will take a very long test ride and see if it's worth losing the storage area.

That is an issue but less of an issue than it was on my bikes. I plan on a trailer.

Trailer?
Are BRP planning to make a hitch available Lamont.....or is it one of your own projects?

No offense meant and I apologize if you were offended. I just meant that your opinion kinda comes through, even though you're "reserving" it.

Ordered my F3 today
Well I am SOLD on the F3. I ordered it today. The test ride at Daytona convinced me that it is the right bike for me. The sales manager at my dealership told me that he thinks they will be selling a lot of F3's and very few other models this year. Time will tell. Cant wait for January.

Lamont, do you know if BRP is going to offer a trailer hitch for the F3? I already have the trailer and if I could use that with an F3 it may make it more attractive to my wife.

Opinion: most people try to take way too much stuff on a bike or Spyder. First option to me is to add the passenger back rest and strap a bag in the copilot seat position. Grab handles look in a great position to provide additional lateral tie down. The ultimate: I have a Bushtec(tm) trailer that would pull nicely behind the F3.
For foot positions, I would set the footpegs more below me and stretch out for the forward cruising position, the way I do on my two wheeler.
For stripes, there's a lot more color choices in the automotive aftermarket than the three offered by BRP.
I feel the same way about the F3 as when I saw first hand in Sep, 2007, the demo fleet of the original Spyders and then the 2014 RT's: the F3's will be in demand. You may not like it, your choice. But a lot of people are "in".
Just my 4 cents worth.

The funniest thing about this thread is the second sentence stating how he's reserving his opinion and then proceeds to rattle off one opinion after another... Hilarious 😃
