what gets you motivated
it's 53 degrees and i wanted to ride today, when my riding buddy was here he would get me out of the house to ride, but when we rode together if there was no one where we were going at least we would sit and talk. i just can't get the feeling to ride this morning not knowing if others are going to be around. what gets you out of the house to ride.

There are many times when I, like you, ponder whether to ride or not because the weather isn't perfect, where to go, no one to ride with... Sometimes I let my lack of motivation win and I stay home, but most times even if I start out with the feeling "why am I doing this" in the end just enjoying the scenery, the road and the bike makes me feel great. I ride alone most of the time as we recently moved to central florida, and I have not met anyone who rides.

Find a local club.
My motivation is the Spyder... Go sit on it in the garage / outside.
I get a buzz everything I look at it!
Sometimes I'll do a quick one hour ride... Doesn't always have to be a long ride.

Ride
Most of the time I ride by myself and enjoy the scenery even if I have seen it a hundred times before.....planning on a ride this afternoon after watching football this morning...
-
If the weather is nice (no rain), I use the Spyder to do local errands, depending what I may need to haul.

Pick a day with no time constraints: Bundle up, get on the Spyder, turn on some easy listening riding tunes, enjoy the ride or find a special place, kick back and reflect on a lot of things. It's a somewhat cleansing feeling.

Time..!!
all I need is a little time. I would be more saddened, depressed, annoyed and lousy company if I missed that opportunity. Who knows who may be out there and if no one the ryde makes it all worthwhile....don't need company, though nice, little music open roads and I'm on top of the world...get out there..!!

I have no one within 2 hours with a Spyder
I have only one other motorcycle in the little town I live in and he only commutes to work on his Harley
I use to live in Southern California and always had someone to ride with
I had a hard time when I moved to Bridgeport California [taking care of 89 year old stepdad]
needed to get out and do something
I got a puppy and decided to do some hiking [that's too much work]
When I first got my dog I was on my Spyder and had to take her home on bike
She seemed to like the ride
Now if I pull out my helmet she runs right to the
she has been riding with me for 2 years now and I take her everywhere
Yes I even talk to her
Some days I can't go anywhere with out a lot of people asking about dog and bike
I have a dog seat made by Beast rider and doggles

bob i am not looking for sympathy. i was never the type of person to ride by myself even with 2 wheels, right now it's a balmy 52 degrees here and i just couldn't see freezing my cookies off just for a ride.

I shouldn't have said that...
