We stopped in at Tousley Motorsports in White Bear Lake MN on Saturday. Salesman told us Slingshots will be arriving middle of October. He said they have already sold 9 units sight unseen. Think I want one also.

I was curious about the Slingshot, so I googled it and found a website Slingshotroadsters.com that is about the Polaris Slingshot. It looks like a fairly new website, but it already has some events listed for the Slingshot. I think there are some in Daytona and there is one in Maggie Valley, NC. I have seen allot of talk about the Slingshot, some for and some against. It seems similar to when the Spyder first came out. People said it wasn't a motorcycle, even though it was classified as a motorcycle. But the Spyder slowly gained popularity and filled a niche for people who couldn't ride 2 wheels for 1 reason or another, or who wanted something different. Look at the Spyder following today, and how much it has grown and how the Spyder has evolved. I think the Slingshot is maybe what the Spyder was when it first came out, something new that will find a place in the motorcycling world. Its not in competition with the Spyder, but like people who rode on just 2 wheels, and then bought a Spyder, might now add it to their stable. I guess only time will tell. Due to an injury I can no longer ride on 2 wheels, I now ride a Spyder . Due also to said I cannot use my left leg to shift or operate a clutch, so for now the Slingshot is not a choice. I am still going to check it out, and maybe they will do like Can Am did, and come out with a semi-automatic.

I sit that low in my current ride. You are literally sitting in the bike, not on top of it. Its like being in a cockpit and is quite awesome. That was one part i thought I would not like, and it turned out being one of my favorite areas of the ride. You don't know until you try it, for sure.

Do you ever find yourself thinking, "Dang; they put the handlebars over the wrong end of the bike..."

I am not really keen on the belt/drive shaft combination for the drivetrain! Just seems like one extra thing to go wrong. Plus it is one long drivetrain, how that will relate to the ride ,time will tell! But that's just me!

I think that the drivetrain chosen; was done so to alleviate some design problems inherent with swingarm suspensions...
I could live with it!

Time will tell Bob! Real time riding will tell how it relates to shifing/vibrations etc.
