I congratulate them for the wisdom of 55% of the voters who voted 'nae' on independence.
I'm not a "everyone should vote" gal. I think everyone who is informed should vote, but we have too many ignorant voters already!

Instead; they should be proud of the VERY high voter turnout (over 85%)!
Folks: That's how it's supposed to work!!
Of course my home province was watching this intently! I am Very happy with the results and the turnout!

Indeed we were....and the results were as I hoped or we would never hear the end of it.

Glad my fellow Brits managed to work it out this time, with our northern neighbours!
You do realize what turned the vote through, don't you???
It was the whole Scottish money thing... Scot's have no idea what "Money" actually is!
They'd have had no chance designing and actually using it... being so tight! LOL!

I've got to admit, that the entire issue of "kilts", has me bewildered...
Had they voted for Independence; could they have instituted a "National Dress code"?
And what would happen to Scottish Terriers, that were born when they were part of the British Empire? Do they get an asterick by their name?

Dang it, I had wished for opposite result at the poles
Bond, James Bond!!
Even Sean Connery said, no time like the present to experience our own independence...
but too bad he couldn't make the trip...

When I was there in 2000, they had currency issues from Bank of Scotland, but tied to the British pound.
Question - was the independence going to be like Canada and Australia (part of the commonwealth) or separate republic, like the US?

Good points, but I will spare my words will try to not get anything started.
Allowing the 16 year old vote was kind of interesting to me. A bit scary and an age that can be swayed easily.
Here we worry about the welfare vote and the illegal vote.

Much different over there though - Meaning Europe.
16 in England / Scotland is different to here... much more mature.
Not knocking teenagers here, just a fact. My 18 year old wouldn't make it in the UK I grew up in the 80's! LOL!

Yep, they were going for total autonomy.
Own currency, own military, own laws etc.
The thing going forward is that even though Scotland is still part of the UK, it's brought to light that there does need to be some change.
You can bet that in the not too distant future Scotland will have more say in what goes on, in regards to the UK government and what decisions are made.
