Winter Discussion, what are you hoping to do?
Do most of you have fancy skidoo's and quad's for winter ryding?
I saw this setup and had to smile...

No, the picture above is not a secret 2014 snowmobile but it does look cool! I wonder how fast it goes and if there is an X model.. This is a Can-Am Spyder that has been converted for snow. If you are looking for the new 2014 Ski-Doo snowmobiles, you can get the full details on the 2014 sleds at ski-doo.com You can find the original picture at the following URL: https://www.facebook.com/raymond.dufour.77

Ryder Ryder, Ryder!
Winter is our best riding season. I'm planning on putting more than a few miles on my Spyder.
So far, my second childhood is better than my first.

We have had our first snows in the "high country." The highest mountains now have "termination dust" on them.
Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.
Previously : 2008 GS-SM5 (silver), 2009 RS-SE5 (red), 2010 RT-S Premier Editon #474 (black) 2011 RT A&C SE5 (magnesium) 2014 RTS-SE6 (yellow)
MY FINAL TALLY: 7 Spyders, 15 years, 205,500 miles
IT HAS BEEN A LONG, WONDERFUL, AND FUN RIDE.

I ride my Skidoo 1200 TNT in the winter months and the Spyder for spring, summer and early fall. It usually isn't much more than a month or two for me before the transition from Spyder to snowmobile, or snowmobile to spyder depending which end of the season I'm in. We had such a long winter last season up here in the northeast that I could have rode my spyder and gone to hills snowmobiling all in the same day. I don't ride the spyder on the salt brine roads though.

Is that snow kit street legal? I was going to look into MATTRAX to extend my season. We had snow from October to June last year here in traverse city, mi.

During the winter here I ride. I think I actually ride more in the fall and winter here than I do in the summer when it's often in the high 90s and 100s.
Yep...I'll be riding.

Yep, like you I will probably put more miles on my spyder in the fall, winter and spring.

Maybe we can send you down some winter again? ;-)
Did you enjoy our Arctic Owls who flew down, and had enjoyable times visiting? ;-)
It must be nice no winter... I can only dream about it.
More lovely wet Snow predicted for today, right about now.
Afraid to look out the window. No, I won't even peek.

Florida may not be perfect, and many times since we moved here in 83 I have wanted to leave. But somehow even with the changes around my part of Florida, there is good to be found.
We'll ride all fall, winter and spring. The riding will certainly be more dangerous with the infamous "snowbirds" as they are called by some arriving around Thanksgiving and leaving around Easter. Avoiding the nesting areas is a big key.
Sorry to hear about how many Spyders will be parked for a few months.
