2015 F3 letter to dealers: "only have seen part of the story!"
Taken from www.SpyderF3.com a new web site created by Central Florida Powersports:
"August 19, 2014 - BRP sends all Can-Am Roadster dealers a memo stating the leaked photos by spy photographers in two continents. The letters states that BRP will publicly acknowledge the leak and publish the first official picture on social media channels on August 20, 2014.
The letter also states we have "only 'seen' part of the story". Hmmmm. This makes you wonder what else these guys have up their sleeves. BRP has a proven track record of developing extremely innovative products."

A few months ago some Spyder dealers were told that there would be TWO innovative announcements for model year 2015. One was a new "more affordable" addition to the line-up. The other was not disclosed but was said to be "so innovative that it will nearly equal the initial introduction of the Spyder Roadster in 2007"
Well, while the F3 is indeed innovative, I'm not sure it's THAT innovative. So, I think the base F3 is the "more affordable" one. Which means..... perhaps our socks have yet to be knocked off.

Maybe a youth model for the kids to ride around the back yard???? That would be RIGHTEOUS!!!!!!!
Just sayin'...........
Three in the garage, and I think I can fit at least one more in.....and then we will have to build another garage.
The roads in NY are so bad that I am glad we bought a Ryker Rally
Just sayin'............

Wrong, and I'm 100% sure.

Well, you DO sound fairly sure. But I'm thinking there could be just a tad of "wiggle room" for speculation ...unless you know something more than what you're sayin'

Know what would make me REALLY EXCITED?? If BRP/dealer were to give me a really good trade in value for my 2013!

Sept 23 WILL determine my next purchase. Right now BRP has me at a stall from buying any other product (including slingshot) till then. And that's a good thing....

FYI, as of last week my local Polaris dealer had already pre-sold 8 Slingshots-- they are supposed to get a demo model in October, but they're on the fence on whether they're even going to bother using it as such, they might sell that one too given how high demand has been, and just wait until spring to get a demo vehicle.
My Spyder ain't going anywhere (until I choose to replace it with another Spyder ), but I'm really thinking about a Slingshot as a second three-wheeled toy...
Silver 2010 RS SE5: Triple Play, Taillight, Brightsides, Fender Tips, Easy Risers; Evo Sway Bar; Airhawk R & Beadrider; latch springs; Grab-On grips; Crampbuster; 24" Madstad smoke windshield & deflectors; N-R round bag & soft saddlebags; BRP handlebar bag; Throttlemeister; Spyderpops Missing Air Dam & Air Mgmt System; Rivco driver & passenger boards & pegs; ISCI parking brake extension; Ultimate Midrider Seat w/both backrests, Fox Racing Shocks, Yoshi R-77 exhaust and a whole lotta love!

I think you'll find that is why BRP intentionally leaked the F3 info (well my opinion is it was intentionally done). They were/are afraid the Slingshot unveil would hurt potential sales of their new product(s) being released in Sept. The leak might at least create a "stall mode" for some buyers.

slingshot -- nope
I must admit -- the slingshot is an interesting vehicle -- but its too much like a car -- and then you need helmets -- I get a kick out of the passenger in the ad screaming and waving her arms -- (I dont think so ) -- if I wanted something like that I'd get a Jeep Wrangler again -- sticking with my Spyder!!

My biggest problem with the slingshot is that I am afraid you will get run over. When on a motorcycle or spyder, you are at eye level, and people will move over into your lane and say they didn't see you. Just imagine what it will be like when you are below the cagers sight line. The slingshot may work for some, but I will stick with 2 wheels, or a spyder (once I finally get one )

I have not look for or seen dimensions on a Slingshot. Being a motorcycle it no doubt avoids some design criteria a car must adhere to.
Hopefully it never happens, but one consideration I had when I saw the initial ads and photos was how will it do in a collision? Is it viable that something as simple as rear ending a pickup would provide no protection for the Slingshot occupants and give them an untimely death?
I did show the Slingshot photos to the wife and asked if she had an interest in going from Spyder to Slingshot. While not a two wheel moto girl, she opted to stay with a Spyder. Other options I tossed out were all cars, but open type cars like a Miata, S2000, or similar kit car.
I hope the Singshot is all it appears and very safe for those that buy them.

Hey Lamont,
How 'bout pulling some strings and get BRP to bring a F3 to SpyderQuest!?
Could do it, and call it a pre- preview.
After all, Lake George isn't really that far from the border....
