Can't wait to see it in person. One thing I know for sure is that the very first mod has to be exhaust. No way this monster bike can sound like stock spyders usually do. It just wouldn't look right. Since it has the "biker" look, it needs to have the biker sound.
I am guessing the beta testing has already been completed. As usual, nobody called me--even though I could have given them a couple hundred miles a day. Almost that many miles are on my new 2014 though--so I am happy.
Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.
At the very worst case Sept 23 you'll have most of your questions answered and I'll be able to fill in the blanks but till then we can all just wait and see. It is good to see the new blood showing up.
Great looking bike but I'm looking forward to see what you end up doing with it!
Lamont i have been away and just got back. took a 10day trip on the spyder's...yes we have 2 now. Hey would it be possible to fabricate an air ride suspension for the f3. With 5 back surgeries I need some soft riding lol. Just a thought I know you are a busy guy. I would buy this bike in a heart beat...love the orange frame and truly love the look of this spyder.

since I believe that is the first joint venture muffler from Brp/Akropovic venture, I doubt it will sound anything like a stock spyder

I hope you're right. This bike needs a strong sound to sell it's Harley look. If it's not strong enough, I'll make sure it gets the exhaust it deserves.
Not sure on the front end, but like the rest of the f3 look. Looking forward to details

If it is priced near 20k for a base bike, many will take a hard look at the slingshot. Imo.
I agree,
It is going to have to be significantly under 20 k. there is a sponsoring dealer on the slingshot forum that has a out the door price for the base slingshot at 21 k, and he is playing no games with markup etc.
This bike has more going on with it than the top of the line RS (which is 20K), so how in the world do you guys think it's gonna come "significantly" lower than 20K....
I'M DUE FOR A NEW SPYD3R....
MY'09 RS SE5 HAS BEEN ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE... NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER, AND IT HAS GIVEN ME PERFECT SERVICE FOR OVER 40,000 MILES OF SMILES...
BUT I'M HOT ON THE NEW 1330/6 SPEED... IF THE RS ISN'T FITTED WITH THAT COMBO, AND THE F3 IS... THEN I'LL BE AN F3 MAN, EVEN THOUGH I'M NOT CRAZY ABOUT THE STYLING.... I'M MORE ABOUT PERFORMANCE... BUT IF THE RS IS FITTED WITH THE 1330/6 SPEED... THEN THAT'S BINGO FOR ME, THAT'LL BE MY NEXT RIDE.....
WE'LL SEE IN ANOTHER COUPLE WEEKS WHAT BRP IS OFFERING....

I've had three triples in motorcycles and all three had a similar sound to them. The 1979 Yamaha XS750 Special had an almost diesel sound to it. The 1996 Triumph Adventurer 900 was somewhat like that but could also have an almost aircraft engine sound to it (think P-51 Mustang or British Spitfire swooping in). The 2010 Triumph Rocket III Touring somewhat similar but had a deeper sound to it, almost like a big marine engine (like a PT Boat or a big old Chris Craft cabin cruiser with an inline six or eight cylinder engine). None of these triples sounded anything like a Harley but each had a kind of cool sound of their own. I'm betting the new F3 will have a sound that falls somewhere in the range of the three triples I've had. Not a bad sound, but different.

I agree! I love my GS/RS, but it would be hard to deny the ACE motor in an RS styled Spyder. Can't wait till the reveal!

I was thinking the same as you, but then after thinking more (It started to hurt after a while) To put the 1330 in an RS or ST you
would end up with the front of your Spyder looking as wide and similar to an RT, so an even wider front with skinny rear, not sure how that would look as an RS to be honest, maybe an ST. Just sharing my thoughts.
