It appears Can Am is about to "style" the Spyder out of existence....

Love it! Looks mean and fast, a fitting redesign. Most likely a prototype; can't wait to see the final production ready vehicle!

Truth be told, When I first saw it, with the covers on, I thought it was the most butt-ugly thing I had ever seen. Now, with the covers off and the Revealed, I kind of like it! I'll definitely keep my 2014 RT Limited, but if I was thinking about getting one as my first bike. I would have to seriously consider it! However, the front end still looks like it's from a riding lawn mower!!!
2014 RT Limited SE-6 in Black Currant. Mods so far: Rivco Trunk Mounted Double Flag Holder Kit, Diamond R Drivers Tour Mug, Tric Led Drink Holder, BRP Hitch, Mini Trailer USA Nomad Trailer. I'd bet a beer that, IF the pics are of a 2015, it's a whole new model....

We have been discussing this a bit.

    http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/s...are-looking-up

Most are guessing this will be an addition to the lineup.

Don't think it will replace the RS as it is quite a change and appears to be designed to appeal to a different audience.

Currently Owned: 2019 F3 Limited, 2020 F3 Limited: SOLD BOTH LIMITEDS in October of 2023.

    Previously : 2008 GS-SM5 (silver), 2009 RS-SE5 (red), 2010 RT-S Premier Editon #474 (black) 2011 RT A&C SE5 (magnesium) 2014 RTS-SE6 (yellow)

MY FINAL TALLY: 7 Spyders, 15 years, 205,500 miles

Glad to see the new model getting some high profile attention. If I wanted to buy "Street Cred", I would buy a harley. I don't though. I want something different, and fun to ride. I will say though, the front end is kinda like mold on bread, it grows on you.

    Just sayin'............
Three in the garage, and I think I can fit at least one more in.....and then we will have to build another garage.
The roads in NY are so bad that I am glad we bought a Ryker Rally

    Just sayin'............

Wow. I'm surprised how many people have changed there minds from the last thread to this one. I liked it before. I like it even more now. Glad things are looking good.

I like it, but it won't work for me. I'm not a cruiser kind of guy and that looks like it will be tough to push thru the corners. So far the "re-worked" RT will stay.

    You can't buy "Street Cred"...
You earn it with the miles that you ride!

I'm kind of curious because I've seen this said so many times about riding hard through the corners (and there's nothing wrong with that). Did you specifically buy your spyder for that reason, or did that riding style develop after awhile? I'm in no way picking on you. It's just one of those burning questions I have had for awhile.

Hey Guys and Gals,,the spyder series as it stands right now consist of RS, ST, RT and F3 models. We don't have to love them all. that's why there is a choice.
    Now to Bob's reply above,
I know some people that think they have Street Cred and I am sure most of us do. They are want a be's. They want to look cool (matter of opinion), to them A "bike ride" is trip across town to the next hangout and hopefully a lot of people will see them along the way. They know somebody that knows somebody that has a brother that knows somebody that might be famous. they know all there is to know about everything. And usually a harley is the only bike they would own (nothing against harley) even if they have never owned or tried anything other brand (they may not even own a bike).
I guess that is what makes the world go around. To each his own. To me a ride is nothing short of 150 miles. If I have somewhere to go and it is only 40 or 50 miles it is simply a "run". " I am going to "run" to see so an so, or I am going to "run" to a dealer somewhere. I think I'll "run" to the store. Anyway, I agree with you Bob.

It's ok, we all have different reasons for being on the Spyder and I'll answer the best I can.

I was a BMW rider, mostly various boxers, 1200 R's, and RT's for 50 years who was told that I must get off 2 wheels for medical reasons. If you've been around the biking world for a while, you know what that means, long distances and good handling bikes being ridden by mostly competent riders. Most of my friends still ride BMW's and we take several major trips a year together. I bought the Spyder in May and I just cleared 10,000 miles and have about 5-6000 more to go this year.

So at this point, I guess it's a point of "pride" to still be able to "keep up" and not be left behind by the group in the twistys. So I bought the Spyder with that thought in mind. I actually started out to buy an ST Limited, but got talked out of it for various reasons and so ended up with an RT and proceeded to make it the best handling bike I could possibly make it into.

Is it a success? Well, sort of. I can outride about 1/2 the guys I ride with and when they pull into a stop, I pull in with the pack, so it's been an acceptable alternative. When we get a new rider in the group, they are astonished that a trike can keep up and as I get to know the bike, it's getting faster and faster. I think with a few more tweaks to the front tires and some more seat time I'll be more than just ok with it.

That's the best answer I can come up with for your question. Hope it helps.

We call them "hops", if they're under 80 miles or so...
And I have VERY little Street Cred; my job doesn't allow me the luxury of unhindered motorcycling.

We bide our time, and make plans for the future!

Gotta love the way people are summing up everything and what they won't buy in 2015 without any knowledge of the line up and what this bike is.

The only thing we know is that it's an F3. Everything else is speculation.

the ONLY thing i know is that the F3 is really ugly and i would walk the Dragon b4 i'd pay good $$$ for an ugly ride to ride the Dragon... just b'kuz some of us DON'T LIKE IT, doesn't mean that we won't like the other models... btw; it's our opinion, and like the man said, "aren't we entitled to ours?"....

I didn't realize that the distance we rode determined if it was a hop, jaunt, run, ride etc. I guess I just don't have the time to keep track of distances, or maybe I don't care. As for street creds, I didn't know that was another thing I'm supposed to think about. WOW, I learn so much each day on SL's. What is the minimum mileage to earn those street creds?
