But if a harley had 3 wheels would a motorcycle look down at it?

Great example of what a stripped down $10K Spyder could be like. No body work, just the mechanicals.

The V-rod is one of my all time favorite bikes - I've owned three of them! Making one into a reverse trike is the answer to a lot of folks dreams. Since the depreciation on a V-rod is very high, you can get a very nice Rod for under $10K, add a $5K front end, and have a real RSS competitor, that is more comfortable (forward controls vs bent knee), and much less expensive. They will sell a ton of them!

Figuring a V Rod Muscle runs around $15,800, add another $5,000 for the kit minus labor to install, roughly $20,800 minus taxes and labor. That's a nice 2014 RSS. Looks a lot nicer too.

Thinks out loud
Great start and
the hard part is done. Someone like Corbin could fabricate a nose cone.
Opinion........Well done folks!

Hi Bob.
Re: I wish them the best of luck!
So do I. Always room for more ideas in the marketplace.
As regards the 'no frunk' thoughts: How many Spyder owners use 3rd party saddlebags?
And just think: No heat problems

PS) And this from one article: "Because of the overwhelming interest, they hope to start filling orders in spring 2015 and continue to design them for other models of bikes." Things are getting interesting.

No abs, stability controls and it doesn't lean. Another concept vehicle that will never make it to market. It would be a liability nightmare. Imho. It needs real r&d to be viable.

It might be ugly but it will be fast.

That's kinda what I was thinking. The front end looks to narrow with too little articulation to be stable in turns.

Non-lean is good as that concept doesn't work without some high end electronics and liability is certainly an issue with leaning trikes due to the unstable nature and limited lean angles. Leaning trikes are only a novelty and would be a dead sell. If liability for non-leaning non-vss was a problem then all existing trike manufactures would be in trouble. VSS is limited to spyder and the slingshot which smartly has included an off option. No other vehicles on the road including cars have VSS so it does not play into the liability equation. It is proven reverse trikes are more stable than 4 wheel vehicles so I have always questioned the VSS system and it's implementation.
I think the scorpion may do well especially on the V-rod and other HD's. The only thing they will need to do is expand their market line as just doing V-rods will not produce enough demand.
Anyway that is my honest view while thinking outside the triangle (R)
Where has it been proven that reverse trikes are more stable than 4 wheel vehicles?
