    Default 2014 and Oil

Leaving tomorrow for SITR. Just wondering how much oil the 2014's drink compared to the earlier models? Would have to add oil between 500-800 miles on my 2011. Curious on what to expect.

    I haven't even added a drop... 2800 miles!
Other folks seem to be reporting about the same experience as well!

My '14 used none in the first 3K miles. 700 miles since and still full. Sure beats the '13 RTL I had.

    Default WOW

I'm impressed and so happy I didn't settle for the 2013 which was about $5000 less at the time. Finishing packing today, take the dogs to the sitter, get up early and head for the coast. And the weather looks fantastic!!!

Default 2014 RT is Awesome - no oil usage at all

Just like the others reporting here .....I've had ZERO oil usage (or leakage) with our 2014 RT Limited It's an AWESOME machine!

I used to carry a quart with me on my 2012 RT Limited due to it using some oil and leaking some as well. BTW, I still have an unopened quart in the back trunk of my 2014 RT Limited (just in case).

Our 2014 RT has about 6600 miles on it and has had it's first service (at 3000 miles). Again, absolutely zero oil usage. I check it after every long ryde and it's always on the full mark - very happy!

I think you can plan on it using NONE! Went 4K on second oil change and added NONE.

    Default Nary a drop

my '14 is over 10k now and besides the 3k service has not wanted any extra oil...and at 3k they said not an oz. was missing. One of the many +'s the '14 has; my '10 really did like to have oil added every 800-900 miles. I do always carry an extra qt. "just in case". Have a great trip and enjoy SITR...ryde safe..

Karyl is right; it's relatively cheap insurance to carry a quart...

...it just seems likely, that you won't need it for yourself!

...and the survey said: Does not appear to use any oil. I like the idea of carrying an extra quart. It is a real hassle to find the right stuff. This will work as an anti-Murphy's law. If you have the extra oil with, you wont need it.

I am carrying a quart with me just in case but very pleased with others experiences. Looking forward to meeting those that are going! Also, since hubby is riding his Harley, almost have him convinced to ride b***h when doing the organized rides to take pictures! We shall see if his testosterone gets in the way

.......I did my first oil and filter change at 2400 miles and the 1330 Ace didn't use any that I could tell...............Karyl considering what you carry around with you on your adventures I think you could safely put some OIL ( may be 6 oz. ) in a small bottle and just have that for an emergency .....JMHO Mike
