WOW!
Has your insurance gone up. Mine did. With all the people crossing the southern boarder my uninsured motorist went up by over 300%. Check to see if yours did.

Not yet..!!
ours has remained the same. But curious how the number of people crossing the border affects our uninsured motorist cost. I live 10 min from the border mine should have skyrocketed...

Mine keeps going up, the insurance company blamed it on all the American tourists driving on the wrong side of the road:-)

Lived and worked 53 years in that area. Worked at the Campo and White Star CDF (now Cal Fire) fire stations. I am aware that the public, tax payer funded schools all along the border send tax payer funded school buses to the border each day to pick up children from across the border. And that about 1/3 of the Campo High School students are from the other side of the border. So I know what you're saying.
But as far as I know, San Diego is not suffering the orchestrated, in mass crossing of thousands of illegal 'citizens' every day as they are in Texas, Arizona and New Mexico.

I had Foremost during the first year. The premium was $1,100/yr. Then they wanted to raise it to $1,400.
I shopped quite a few companies and found Dairyland Insurance (part of Sentry) now I'm paying $400/yr for full coverage.

I was referring to states which border Mexico. The theory being that the recent large influx if illegal aliens would cause insurance rates to go up in those areas. But I see that we may both be wrong in our assessment of which states go which way. I thought New Mexico was more conservative than it appears to be on this map. And Florida, well, not necessarily all that 'Republican', at least based on recent presidential elections, (according to Wikipedia).
So I guess I can throw, at least part of my original hypothesis out the window.

Clark Howard recommends changing insurance companies every two to three years.

That depends on your experience with your Agent...
A savvy Agent will keep an eye on the market trends for you, and make suggestions as needed.
But blindly changing every "two to three years"; because somebody said so...

Checking around every 2 or 3 years and then discussing it with your current provider if you do find significantly lower pricing for the same (or similar) coverage may be the best way to go. If nothing else, you'll know what's out there.

no, I understand your reasoning, but I am basing my assumption on the number of people who don't like ***** down here..... I just can't figure out why they are pissed at the President instead of the idiots in the Congress and the House who aint doing jack, but..... what I just said could easily derail the purpose of this thread so...... forget I said what I said..... lol.

Sorry, but I personally can't give you a "pass" on that one. Congress passes the law. The President or executive branch is supposed to enforce. The present President has decided NOT to enforce the laws of this land.
