I believe the spyder saved my life. two things i know...i will always ride a spider and no matter how hot i will always wear a full face helmet. Wow, looks like your frunk took most of the shock. Glad to see you are ok. I agree with the full face helmet-- your skin is no match for pavement.

I'm so glad you came out okay! Our prayers are with you!
I absolutely, whole-heatedly, agree with full-face helmets. I live in Texas, so it gets hot, but not hot enough to chance my mental capacities in a wreck! In fact, I would go a step further and say we should all be wearing DOT and SNELL certified helmets (I wear a Shoei RF1100, which has great air-flow and is certified both).
Without prying, how did the wreck happen, it looks like your front-end took the impact... did the Spyder spin, etc.? I love the Spyders and have been a proponent of it's safety, but have never experienced it's abilities in this aspect, thank God!
Again, so glad you're okay!

Prayers and Blessings
Sorry to hear about the accident, but still glad to have you around to talk about it. So many individuals take their safety equipment for granted. It's so good to hear that you are not in that category. You will heal soon to ride again.

with everyone and for your speedy recovery. The picture and the fact that you are the one posting this should convince anyone the importance of helmets as well as riding jackets, gloves, and boots.

Good Thing
It appears that your Spyder although totalled prevented you from being more seriously injured which is a good thing. This accident which was unfortunate for you has convinced me of the significant safety advantages the Can AM Spyder has over conventional 2 wheel motorcycles. I'm glad you came through it relatively unscathed. Hopefully you can get your ride replaced and be back on the road again soon.

+1 for complete safety gear. Glad too hear you are relatively okay. I live with the reminders of my motorcycle-deer wreck every day, even with all the gear and a high end Shoei helmet I was pretty beat up. One of the reasons I'm on a spyder now. My other bikes are either used in the woods or ridden little.

I was passing two vehicles. Had almost completed the task when the truck in front started to turn left. No brake lights, no blinker,....I had no where to go because of the second car. I tried to turn left also to avoid hitting head on.....I think that may have worked a little...the right side of my body took the most impact...the spyder after hitting the truck kind of bounced off....i was still on and the spyder was still upright...however i hit a curb and that seemed to separate me from my loyal ryde.....we went different directions....the spyder stayed upright through the whole ordeal took quite a bit of abuse....but i was amazed....(i was going between 50 and 60 miles an hour) so again grateful to my maker to still be here and a champion of the spyder always.
