    Default 2013 RT heat

well i decided to remove the wind deflectors under the mirrors i noticed my legs where getting hot when we road i believe it was caused by no wind on my legs from the wind deflectors we road 375 miles yesterday it was about 78-80 a lot cooler now i also noticed that the bike temp gauge runs on 4 bars instead of 5 it does go up to 5 in traffic but with the wind deflectors it always ran at 5 bars in traffic or highway

I have thought abut removing them as well. Keep us posted as to whether or not this works long term.

    Default Good to know..!!

does seem the air flow towards the legs would also help draw out the heat from the engine. Things for those with fixed deflectors to consider on hot summer days...thanks..!!

Exactly. That is why I went with the adjustable ones. The stock ones divert the around you AND from the upper vent. I keep the adjustable ones in the middle position which allows the air to come straight over the vents.

    Default BRP adjustable wings

I installed the BRP adjustable ones here too. I really like being able to move the air where i need it. Here in Ohio we can have cool morings and nights so being able to pull heat in when wanted or out when not wanted is a GREAT plus. To me this is a must do mod. should have been like from the start of manufacturing IMO! Also I just added Baker Built Air Wings at Spyder feast which make even better! This is another mod to direct wind where it needs to be.

Here are a few shots of the BRP chrome adjustable deflectors. I keep mine in the middle position that lets the wind come straight over the vents.

My better half had the Baker Air Wing installed at Americade and she says it is better. I don't know since she hasn't let me drive it.

I usually keep mine in the center position as well A Sunny Day 006.jpg
Unless it's going to be warm enough to warrant using them as scoops to draw more air in to me!

Mine do not seem to pull in any more air than without the OEMs removed. Either way I only increase air over my knees and no higher. Just can't get crazy over the looks of the Bakers but they probably would work much better. IMHO the factory adjustables are a waste of money in any position.

Last year, I removed the OEM deflectors for the added air flow which is probably equivalent to the adjustables installed, but I did not like the looks of them removed. If you shop around, you can find many of the BRP accessories under retail.
