To be honest, I would have gone with an ST Limited if I could have gotten it with the 1330 engine and SE6 transmission.

Okay, good answer. You are forgiven my son, you may pass.

    My second choice.

    I almost bought a limited.

Didnt like the "full time" boxes on the back.

If easy on and off I would have a limited right now.

I actually had a down payment in on a 2013 ST Limited, but I let Fred Rau talk me out of it. He felt the RT would be a much better match for my touring right now with the new engine and transmission. Maybe in a few years I'll switch over.

I can take both saddle bags off in seconds, it's just a matter of inserting the key and pressing a button.
It takes another couple of minutes to remove the frames, just 3 quick twist bolts on both sides.

    Really?

Dealer said "it is a process"....I figured that meant time.

Yellow just means your slowing down or just to alert people of your squid riding style. Red means your stopped completely but still want to look fast...,

Everyone knows all the fast machines are BLACK because we don't want to be seen by the police!..... we roll stealth...

Your dealer FAILED. You can push one button on each bag and it instantly pops off and then the 1/4 turn fasteners take maybe 37 seconds each side to release them from the bike. After that, it takes a trained spyder owner's eye to identify that there ever were any bags on the bike.

    Default Trained spyder owners eye

And this trained spyder owner is hoping to get some replacement bolts cut down so I can put them in the holes when the rack is not fitted, Attention to detail was all part of my army training.
Unless of course a highly trained spyderlover has a better solution.

This makes me wonder why they wouldn't want to sell the more expensive bike? Perhaps it was just an uninformed salesman?

So if these bags/boxes are purchased separate they are easy to mount on a non-limited ST?

No clue why they wouldn't want to sell the more expensive one It doesn't appear to be too difficult to add them after the fact. It comes with relocation arms for the turn signals and then one bracket is flush with the rear plastic vent and another one mounts below the plastic in the rear fender area. If you need pics I can snap a few for you

It should have been included in a packet of stuff provided by the dealer. Mine was in the front trunk
