Most of us have said and done exactly the same. I was going to keep my RTS stock.

    So far:

    : Extended brake pedal
    : Utopia back rest
    : A frame lights
: Custom Dynamics trunk bar light
    : A new yellow Nolan N44 helmet

    And thinking about:
: LED lights to replace all the reflectors on the front fenders

No matter what we say, it just goes on and on. We want to make that our own.

Same is true regardless of brand.

When I bought the Wing, I told my wife that I would leave it stock. Since then I have:
    • Installed Utopia Backrest
    • Upgraded speakers
    • Installed new exhaust tips
    • Installed HID lights
    • Bought some green LED accent strips
    • Bought a dark smoke shorty windshield
    • Replaced Kury grips with stock
    • Added 12v powerlets everywhere
    • Bought Kury mini floor boards
    • Bought a new trailer (I swore I wouldn't, but I did)
    • And have plans to completely black out the trike with paint and powder coat as soon as I am healthy enough.

So yes. It is a disease that isn't brand specific, and you are not alone John!

I have never been in that camp. Bought early 2008, First year, 2009 with SE5--a new item at the time, 2010, RTS premier edition, and 2014 RTS--new ACE 1330 version.

To date, with three "for sures," and one "looking good," I have not had any problems with the first year editions.

I am one who likes the latest and greatest for sure.

    Default OEM antenna

Hey John, Do you want to sell the OEM antenna if you don't need it. I like the look of having two on the bike. I guess I would have to order a boot or find one.

With talk of the larger brake pedal, I read the sales info about it. Seems it was designed for footpeg style machines. The right sie floorboard, by design will drop away under some breaking emergency braking situations, allowing an even longer throw of brake application. Lamont mentioned this had happened to him in Daytona I believe.

The brake pedal will trip a latch, the floorboard hinges lower, hopefully all is good. The floorboard is raised and reset.

Adding a wider pedal may not allow the pedal to pass the the floorboard providing extra travel. Just to be clear, I run a stock pedal and floorboard setup, so maybe others could verify or show I am in error.

As for the hand brake, is it able to retain the anti-skid design, or does it become rear wheel only anti-skid?

Relax, no names were mentioned. As is typical when a new anything arrives, some people are fine with a new model, while others overwhelm themselves with speculation of problems that are yet to happen. The wife, wanting the Spyder more on a whim, had us buy it (2014 RTs) with limited research, and all research done by phone calls to friends in the motorcycle industry. I noticed this entire don't buy stuff after the fact, ironically, it never really bothered me one way or another. If anything, since it was January, the bike was unknown, it allowed us to force the deal a bit more.

All the best with the 14's guys.

Let me get this straight. You're asking a bunch of "farkle-holics" for help in stopping you from farkling your bike. Fat Chance

    Yup!

It's not the Pedal that trips the floorboard... It's the "arm" that the pedal attaches to that is underneath the 'Board...

The oversized brake pedal does NOT prevent the floorboard from dropping away if needed; CruzrJoe investigated all of this for us!

First of all, farkels are not over-spending, but necessary spending . . . as for caskets, I've come up with the perfect solution. I told my kids, that when I die, they are to go to the finest funeral home, and ask if they have a rosewood coffin, with silk lining and platinum handles. If they do, they are to ask the funeral director how much the box it came in would cost!
