    Default Help Removing Gloryder insert.

So I am scheduled for a Laser Alignment and I'm trying to remove the insert before my appointment. Is there some method of removing the insert without having to take the wheel off?

Make sure you loosen the three set screws first! They may just slide out once those set screws are lose.

Sometimes they do... but we've encountered a few "stubborn" ones that are just pressured in. That is where the slide hammer comes in. The nice thing about the slide hammer is that it will leave no scratches on the rim... however, watch your fingers when sliding the weight bar!

I remember installing them was a very tight fit.

When you re-install them use a little emery cloth on them first.

If you have powder coating that seems to bleed over into the ID of the hub. We typically have to deburr those to get the mandrels in the hub. If so the gloryders may fit a little looser once they are done.

Worked like a charm! Went to HFT bought the slide hammer and used the wide hook. Thanks so much for the help.

Default Ream the wheel hub a little............

When Lamont checked my RT-S for alignment, I had removed the GloRyders but told him one of them was so tight that I had to remove the wheel and tap out from the back. He took his trusty Dremel tool and reamed the hub hole a little larger until my GloRyder slipped in and out very easily. Thanks Lamont!

So I thought it would be a piece of cake since the right side came off with a little effort from the slide hammer. Not so with the left side. It is so stuck I am going to have to wait and have the service tech take the wheel off as I dont have a jack.

After calming down I thought to give it one last try with the Slide Hammer and this time it moved!
I was finally able to get the insert off. I don't think I will replace these inserts unless I can get them to easily slide back in.

Thanks for all the suggestions and support.
